  • Patent number: 9866915
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer readable medium with program instructions for providing contextually relevant information for multimedia content streaming through a rendering device, includes detecting a selection of the multimedia content for rendering on the rendering device. An audio signal of the multimedia content is retrieved and analyzed to generate an audio fingerprint. The generated audio fingerprint is used to identify the multimedia content that is selected for rendering. Contextually relevant content for a portion of the multimedia content being rendered on the rendering device is dynamically retrieved from one or more sources and mapped to data associated with the portion of the multimedia content. The mapping results in the rendering of the relevant content during the rendering of the portion of the multimedia content and provides additional information that is contextually relevant to the portion of the multimedia content that is currently being rendered on the rendering device.

  • Patent number: 9760658
Abstract: A method and apparatus for efficiently managing cached objects is provided. A mapping is a typed relationship between cached objects. A base object contains content, and a mapped object is mapped to a base object when there is a particular relationship between the mapped object and the base object. The type of mapping defines how the objects in the relationship are treated when the mapped object is created, read, or written. At creation time, the mapping type may define how the mapping relationship is recognized. Sometimes recognizing a relationship requires establishing equivalence between the objects. At read and write time, the mapping type may define on which object a mutual exclusion lock is held, which content is returned or which object's content is updated. A wide range of applications can benefit from enhanced object caching performance, and in addition, application may define application-specific semantics on mapping types as well.

The user can view, via the interface on the external system, posts from all users that are provided via the interface (e.g., everyone watching the event), thereby increasing the likelihood that the posts are relevant to the event. The user can also view, via the interface, posts from users associated with the user via the social networking system (e.g., friends of the user), regardless of where those are posted.

Abstract: The intelligent console method and apparatus of the present invention includes a powerful, intuitive, yet highly flexible means for accessing a multi-media system having multiple multi-media data types. The present intelligent console provides an interactive display of linked multi-media events based on a user's personal taste. The intelligent console includes a graph/data display that can provide several graphical representations of the events that satisfy user queries. The user can access an event simply by selecting the time of interest on the timeline of the graph/data display. Because the system links together all of the multi-media data types associated with a selected event, the intelligent console synchronizes and displays the multiple media data when a user selects the event. Complex queries can be made using the present intelligent console. The user is alerted to the events satisfying the complex queries and if the user chooses, the corresponding and associated multi-media data is displayed.

  • Patent number: 8938675
Abstract: A system for automating generation of an audio/video (AV) control interface includes a computing device having a processor to enable a user, with a user interface of the computing device, to configure the AV system. The processor may enable the user to draw output zones to create a representation of a geographical layout of a venue in which the AV system is located. The processor may enable the user to place transmitting and receiving AV devices within the output zones that substantially represent physical locations thereof within the venue. The processor may enable the user to logically associate receiving AV device channels of receiving AV devices within an output zone. The processor assigns parameters of the associated AV devices to a control interface for user control thereof. To do so, the processor identifies controllable parameters associated with the AV devices associated with the output zone.

  • Patent number: 8881009
Abstract: A method and system for description of synthetic audiovisual content makes it easier for humans, software components or devices to identify, manage, categorize, search, browse and retrieve such content. For instance, a user may wish to search for specific synthetic audiovisual objects in digital libraries, Internet web sites or broadcast media; such a search is enabled by the invention. Key characteristics of synthetic audiovisual content itself such as the underlying 2d or 3d models and parameters for animation of these models are used to describe it. More precisely, to represent features of synthetic audiovisual content, depending on the description scheme to be used, a number of descriptors are selected and assigned values. The description scheme instantiated with descriptor values is used to generate the description, which is then stored for actual use during query/search.
