Abstract: A computer-enabled method is provided for labeling at least one portion of a video with one or more tags. The method includes causing the video to be displayed to at least two users, including a first user and a second user, receiving a first tag from the first user at a first time, receiving a second tag from the second user at a second time, determining a time difference between the first and second times, associating the first tag with the video, and providing a first consideration to the first user in response to the first tag matching the second tag and the time difference being less than a predetermined value, wherein the first consideration is based upon the time difference. The first and second considerations may be inversely proportional to the time difference and may be points or other compensation.

The UI includes a background having a user defined granularity, a plurality of dots, which each represent at least one collaborative exchange of a user and which are each arranged on the background, a graphic connection between any two or more dots which each represent exchanges between the user and similar entities, a first graphic which includes first level information, and a second graphic which includes second level information. For any set of one or more dots which each represent exchanges between the user and similar entities, the dot closest to or within the central area includes a graphical identifier that indicates whether the entity is currently available for a new exchange.

Abstract: A method (and corresponding system and computer program product) providing control to open video conference is disclosed. One aspect enables participants of a video conference to asynchronously join and leave the video conference. Another aspect enables participants to merge multiple video conferences into a single video conference, or to split a single video conference into multiple video conferences.

Abstract: An embodiment provides a flexible way to categorize instant messages (IM) or instant data by segmenting them. The default category would be viewable and/or readable as currently is with no change. However, those categories which are categorized as CONFIDENTIAL and/or PERSONAL would be displayed in a hidden form. The invention is demonstrated using a CONFIDENTIAL category; however, the invention is not limited to just CONFIDENTIAL category as it can be applied to other categories as well, such as INFORMATIONAL. An embodiment of the invention allows users to view CONFIDENTIAL informational in private and data would be hidden on the receiving end until a request to un-hide is made by the receiver.

Abstract: A method for providing instructional information during the start-up of a computer is disclosed. The method includes the steps of presenting on a screen a start-up screen presentation, the start-up screen presentation including graphical instructional information as well as other informational portions, presenting on the screen a multimedia instructional presentation, and synchronizing portions of the multimedia instructional presentation with presentation events, the presentation events illustrating information provided by the multimedia instructional presentation.

Abstract: A video combining apparatus to superimpose a virtual image such a CG image on a video image of the real world or on a see-through type display device. An area in which the virtual image is not to be displayed can be easily designated by a user. If the user holds a frame with markers in his/her sight, the frame is image-sensed in the video image of the real world. The area designated by the user is detected by detecting the position of the marker in the video image, and the virtual image is not superimposed in this area.

The system includes a media management server configured to receive videoconference data associated with a videoconference session. A media analysis server configured to analyze the stored videoconference data to insert indices representing the captured events is provided. A media playback unit configured to establish a connection with the media management server is included. The media playback unit is further configured to enable position control of a video stream delivered to the media playback unit from the media management server while maintaining the connection. A method, a computer readable medium, and a graphical user interface for the play back of videoconference data are also provided.

The universal media player allows a user to navigate between different sources of media without requiring the downloading of the media player associated with the format of the media source. The universal media player includes an interface with user-actuable control buttons, the universal media player determining whether incoming media is playable by the universal media player. If the incoming media is playable by the universal media player, the media is intercepted as the media is downloaded and redirected to the universal media player. Determining if the media is playable is accomplished by identifying the type of incoming media and searching a table of MIME media types.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system and a method allowing users to record/stream a video conference by dialing a Content Server from any endpoint using a personal alias or aliases, or by dialing an endpoint from a content server using a personal alias or aliases. The alias(es) will define their preferred streaming/archiving template(s) and call configuration(s), allow them to set specific viewing rules for the conference and identify them as the owner of the conferences created through this alias. The alias owner can also assign default meta data (title, description, etc.) and an access list for determining who can view the recorded and/or streamed conference. By allowing this, each user can easily stream/record a conference with their preferred settings without having to check or change the settings each time a new call is made, and without changing the settings for other users.

Abstract: A system and method for conducting market research studies on online content utilizing moderator and respondent computers connected over a network. A moderator at the moderator computer directs a plurality of respondents at the respondent computers to view preselected subject matter displayed on the respondent computers and collects comments and reactions on the subject matter from the respondents in a database for later review and for benchmarking. Software resident in the respondent computers enables the respondents to view a plurality of screens showing different aspects of the online content and, in a preferred embodiment, provides buttons that can be activated by the respondents to indicate a reaction to the content.
