Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which is stored machine-readable instructions that when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to receive a request for result data from a requestor and determine queries to create the result data. The processor may determine a subset of a data set based on the queries. The subset of the data set may be displayed in small multiples by the requestor. The processor may output the subset of the data set as the result data to the requestor. In some examples, the processor may receive a request for additional result data from the requestor. The processor may determine a second subset of the data set to be displayed in the small multiples and output the second subset of the data set as the additional result data to the requestor.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus according to the present invention performs control such that a change in a first designation mode is performed in accordance with reception of a first type of operation without moving an input position in a predetermined region, wherein in the change, a specific change target is changed to a change destination that corresponds to a region to which the input position in the first type of operation belongs, and a change in a second designation mode is performed in accordance with reception a second type of operation of moving the input position in the predetermined region, wherein in the change, the specific change target is changed to a change destination that differs, by a change amount based on a movement amount in the second type of operation, from the change destination that is changed in the first type of operation.

Abstract: A device comprising a processor and a memory may be configured to perform various aspects of the techniques described in this disclosure. The processor may present, via a first portion of a user interface, an interactive text box in which a user may enter the data indicative of the current input, present, via a second portion of the user interface, an interactive log of previous inputs entered prior the current input, and present, via a third portion of the user interface, a graphical representation of result data obtained responsive to the data indicative of the current input. The second portion of the user interface and the third portion of the user interface may be separately scrollable but coupled such that interactions in either the second portion of the user interface or the third portion of the user interface synchronize the second portion of the user interface and the third portion of the user interface. The memory may store the data indicative of the current input.

Abstract: An audio stream is subjected to speech-to-text processing in order to obtain a textual representation of the audio stream. Hierarchical topic extraction is performed on the textual representation to obtain a multi-level hierarchical topic representation of the textual representation. A user interface actuator is generated, which allows a user to search through the audio stream. Different levels of the multi-level hierarchical topic representation are displayed to the user, based upon the speed of actuation of the user interface actuator.

Each of a first and second slider thumb is positioned at a respective location along a slider track, and associated with a corresponding value along the slider track. User interaction is detected and identified to include at least one of a tap or a drag. A hardware processor responds to the user interaction by processing a value representing the tap or the drag to determine a location along the slider track of the user interaction. The processor identifies the interaction as being with one of the first and second slider thumbs, and repositions the identified one slider thumb to the determined location along the slider track. In addition, a graphical selection overlay is on the selected slider thumb, and by determining a slider track value associated with the repositioned location of the selected one slider thumb along the slider track.

Abstract: A data preprocessing system builds transformation scripts for preprocessing datasets for processing by a data analysis system. The data preprocessing system presents various representations of data of a dataset including visual representations, textual representations, or structural representations. The data preprocessing system receives selections of attributes or values based on these representations. The data preprocessing system generates recommendations of transformations based on the attributes or values selected. The data preprocessing system builds a transformation script based on the recommendations of the transformations. The transformation script can be used for preprocessing the dataset for analysis by a data analysis system.

Abstract: Access is obtained to a hierarchically structured document having a plurality of hierarchical levels. For each of the hierarchical levels, a word list with a word count for each word included therein is obtained. For each of the hierarchical levels, a tag cloud based on a corresponding one of the word counts is created. Icons are displayed to users describing an interaction with a content item. The icon may comprise information about the type of the interaction with the content item and which user performed the interaction. In some embodiments, icons are presented to users based on a measure of affinity of the user for the interaction. In some embodiments, a user can select the icon to see the interaction with the content item.

While the user is maintaining physical contact with the touch sensitive surface, the device receives a rotational touch gesture dragging the display element about the rotary interface. Responsive to receiving the rotational touch gesture, the numeral is modified.

The digital assistant then obtains at least one information item based on a speech input from a user. Upon determining that the at least one information item can be displayed in its entirety in the display region of the display screen, the digital assistant displays the at least one information item in the display region, where the display region and the object region are not visually distinguishable from one another. Abstract: A computer-implemented method of graphical user interface element adjustment may include presenting a graphical user interface element that includes an adjustable element that is configured to be moved to adjust a selection of a value between a first end value and a second end value. In response to a movement of the adjustable element to adjust the selection of the value, the computer-implemented method further include obtaining a time for the movement of the adjustable element and selecting the first end value to adjust based on the time. The computer-implemented method may further include determining an updated end value based on the first end value and the time and presenting the updated end value in the graphical user interface element in place of the first end value.

Abstract: Various methods for implementing a variable content movable control are provided. One example method includes receiving an indication that a movable control is located at a second position along a defined path on a touch screen display. A first position, the second position, and at least a third position may defined along the defined path such that the movable control being located at the first position causes first content to be presented and the movable control being located at the third position causes a transition from a locked mode to an unlocked mode. The example method may further include causing second content to be presented on the touch screen display in response to at least receiving the indication that the movable control is located at the second position. In another embodiment, candidate advertisements are identified for presentation in the content stream; for each candidate, an expected cost per time unit (eCPTU) of exposure is determined; one of the candidate advertisements is selected for inclusion in the content stream based on the eCPTU's; the content stream is transmitted to the client device.

The method includes displaying a predetermined sliding track and a slider located on the predetermined sliding track, the predetermined sliding track including at least one candidate stop-node, each candidate stop-node being corresponding to a piece of candidate input information; receiving a control signal corresponding to the slider; causing the slider to change a position on the predetermined sliding track according to the control signal; and, taking the candidate input information corresponding to the candidate stop-node where the slider stays as input information when the changed position of the slider is one of the candidate stop-nodes. Herein is provided a web decoder which includes a learning engine adapted to receive human indications of data elements which are unimportant and accordingly to adjust the web decoder's procedures for determining which data elements are displayed to the user. The learning engine may receive human indications of important data elements and uses both types of indications in its further determinations. Optionally, rule generalizations are performed in a manner which searches for parameters which differentiate between important and unimportant data elements. Abstract: Scrollbar control is utilized for manually scanning for displayed/available information while controlling the amount of information that is actually materialized. In response to a drag and hold of the “thumb” to a beginning or end location of the scrollbar, additional records may be retrieved depending on a display order of data on the user interface. If the location corresponds to an end of records (whether at the beginning or at the end of the order), that may be indicated. Upon release, the thumb may be moved automatically to a predefined location to indicate additional available records at the source if that is the case.

In an embodiment, a portion of a scrollable information set is displayed on a user device. As the user navigates through the information set, one or more location indicators are modified. The location indicators each correspond to a position within the information set and are configured to facilitate user input for navigating to a corresponding position within the information set.
