Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for clustering query refinements. One method includes building a representation of a graph for a first query, wherein the graph has a node for the first query, a node for each of a plurality of refinements for the first query, and a node for each document in the document sets of the refinements, and wherein the graph has edges from the first query node to each of the refinement nodes, edges from the first query to each document in the respective document set of the first query, edges from each refinement to each document in the respective document set of the refinement, and edges from each refinement to each co-occurring query of the refinement. The method further includes clustering the refinements into refinement clusters by partitioning the refinement nodes in the graph into proper subsets.

Abstract: Techniques are described to provide revocable object access. In an implementation, a user may provide content and an object (e.g., a picture) to be published with the content. The object is uploaded to a storage location, and a uniform resource locator (URL) that includes a token is generated for the object. The token is registered in an access control list (ACL), and token permission settings in the ACL are utilized to control access to the object. The URL may be embedded in the content. When a viewer requests the content, the object may be retrieved from the storage location using the URL. The user may revoke access to the object by changing the token permission settings in the ACL.

Abstract: A computing device having a display portion for displaying information and a user input portion for receiving an input from a user. The device is operable to display a first set of user-selectable function elements in a first format and is responsive to an input from a user corresponding to a user-selected portion of the display portion to display a second set of function elements that include one or more function elements of the first set of user-selectable function elements that are associated with the selected portion of the display portion in a second format different from the first format. Abstract: In some example embodiments, a system and method are provided for graph pattern analysis. In example embodiments, pattern data of a primary network that includes data relating to relationships between entities are received. A secondary network based on the pattern data of the primary network is generated by using an algorithm that processes pattern characteristics extracted from the pattern data. The generated secondary network is provided for further analysis.

Specifically, a user may cause an application panel to be displayed, which displays content based on the panel tab selected by the user and the content being actively displayed on the intelligent television; that is, the layout, information, and content of the application panel depends on the content being displayed by the intelligent television. For example, upon receiving a selection from the user, the intelligent television may display one or more items of information that are associated with the content currently being displayed in an active content window. Additionally, the user may select a tab corresponding to specific information about the active content window. As the application panel is used to navigate through various screens in the intelligent television, the application panel itself does not obstruct the user from viewing content displayed on the screen of the intelligent television.

Abstract: A method for examining document of a software product against a list of strings files of an interface of the software product to detect whether the document includes list of strings of the interface is provided. The method includes determination of source files of the document. The method further includes a search for string files of the interface that are present in the document. The method further includes comparison of the string files against the source files. Responsive to the comparison, if no match of the source files and the string files is found, an invalid status of the document is found, and wherein if a match is found, the document is flagged with a valid status.

Abstract: Enabling users to select a subset of elements represented by a rendered topology view, and in response, a new view comprising the selected elements is automatically created. Preferred embodiments render this subset view, referred to herein as a “tear-away view”, alongside the topology view from which the elements were selected, thereby enabling the user to focus on the selected elements in context of the bigger picture. An active correlation is preferably maintained between the views, such that various updates to one view are also reflected in the other view. Preferred embodiments automatically create a new data model underlying the tear-away view, and in one aspect, this data model and/or tear-away view may be persisted.

An input device allows the viewer to move a pointer over different interactive areas of the guide and the function performed when the area is activated is displayed in a contextual help window. Various control glyphs provide for recursive interaction with the guide.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions are disclosed for displaying the true status of hierarchical operations being performed in a data processing system. For example, a Z-order layering technique can be used to display simultaneously on a screen the status of a plurality of operations being performed on elements of a hierarchical structure, such as, for example, on an inverted tree directory and a plurality of its sub-trees. Advantageously, the display can be scaled to include operations being performed for many nested levels of the hierarchical structure, without having to increase the overall footprint of the display. Also, an application for copying a directory has to traverse the directory's structure only one time (e.g., during the copying operation), because the application does not need to know in advance the total number of files that have to be copied.

Abstract: The use of pressure-sensitive controls is disclosed in which controls respond differently to different pressure applied by a stylus on a digitizer. Users interacting with displayed controls may modify the speed, increment, or other property of the control by pressing harder or softer. Abstract: A method and system for the dynamic extension (e.g. subclassing) of objects to enable visual styling of on-screen elements is disclosed herein. The present invention allows designers and developers alike to conceive, implement, and modify native mobile interfaces effortlessly and in real time through a familiar CSS-based syntax. The technique of dynamic subclassing for the purpose of styling greatly simplifies the development process by no longer requiring the developer to directly configure visual element's properties or to subclass objects in code.

The system accommodates and helps both novice and advanced users. For example, calendar event items may be viewed in an “agenda” view. A calendar event item may have a date and include any information relating to a corresponding calendar event. According to some example embodiments, a list of calendar event items and a list of dates are each displayed in a navigable format. The list of dates may include at least dates in a date range defined by the dates of the calendar event items. A navigation position of the list of calendar event items and a navigation position of the list of dates may be coordinated.

Abstract: A system for managing voice communications provides voice prompts in one or more particular languages or language variants. High level grammatical rules are defined for the set of voice prompts in the particular language. The grammatical rules for the set of voice prompts are stored in the system. A set of audio tiles are developed in the particular language. The audio files in the particular language are stored in the system. A request is received from a user, and the system initiates a request for a voice prompt. A sequential list of audio files is developed, and when the sequential list of audio files is played by the system, the requested voice prompt is played to the user in the particular language. The sequential list of audio files is produced based on the grammatical rules and voice communications are managed in the system.

Abstract: Techniques for improved text-to-speech processing are disclosed. The improved text-to-speech processing can convert text from an electronic document into an audio output that includes speech associated with the text as well as audio contextual cues. One aspect provides audio contextual cues to the listener when outputting speech (spoken text) pertaining to a document. The audio contextual cues can be based on an analysis of a document prior to a text-to-speech conversion. Another aspect can produce an audio summary for a file. The audio summary for a document can thereafter be presented to a user so that the user can hear a summary of the document without having to process the document to produce its spoken text via text-to-speech conversion.

According to the method for controlling a mobile terminal, one region of a screen image of an accessed Web page is selected as a select region, and the select region is set as a bookmarked region. Accordingly, when the Web page is re-accessed through bookmarking, the set bookmarked region can be displayed as the initial screen image.

A first graphical element representing a parent node in a hierarchical node structure is displayed via a graphical user interface (GUI). One or more second graphical elements, each representing a first child node of the parent node, are further displayed via the GUI on a first imaginary curve adjacent to or at least partially surrounding the parent node. In response to a user selection of one of the first child nodes, one or more third graphical elements each representing a second child node of the first child node are displayed via the GUI on a second imaginary curve adjacent to or at least partially surrounding the selected child node.

Abstract: Systems and methods in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure enable use of a keyboard to navigate a webpage presented in a web browser. According to an embodiment, a two-dimensional grid is placed over a webpage and elements of the webpage are assigned to the nearest cells of the grid. The grid specifies the directional and distance relations among the various elements of the webpage. Functionality is provided that enables users to quickly navigate the elements of the webpage using arrow keys of a keyboard. For example, if a selection indicator is currently focused on a webpage element that is assigned to a particular cell of the grid, a press of the left-arrow key moves the selection indicator leftward along the grid to the element that is assigned to the nearest leftward cell. The same functionality is applied to up-arrow, down-arrow, and right-arrow keys. Further, functionality is provided that enables users to quickly navigate the elements of the webpage using hotkeys.

Abstract: An “Interactive Word Lattice” provides a user interface for interacting with and selecting user-modifiable paths through a lattice-based representation of alternative suggested text segments in response to a user's text segment input, such as phrases, sentences, paragraphs, entire documents, etc. More specifically, the user input is provided to a trained paraphrase generation model that returns a plurality of alternative text segments having the same or similar meaning as the original user input. An interactive graphical lattice-based representation of the alternative text segments is then presented to the user. One or more words of each alternative text segment represents a “node” of the lattice, while each connection between nodes represents a lattice “edge. Both nodes and edges are user modifiable. Each possible path through the lattice corresponds to a different alternative text segment. Users select a path through the lattice to select an alternative text to the original input.

Each higher level node contains the identity of a parent node, a position indicator for the higher level node and an associated identifier.

Abstract: Method and system for providing graphical user interface for displaying hierarchical charts. According to various embodiments, the present invention provides a graphical user interface where relational data are displayed as one or more hierarchical charts. A hierarchical chart includes a plurality of nodes that are organized according to the hierarchical chart. Each of the nodes is associated with a data record that contains multiple level of information. At different view level, different amount of information for the nodes are displayed. A view control function is provided for the graphical user interface. If none (or all) of the nodes are selected, each nodes display the same level of information based associated with a particular view level. If only few of the nodes are selected, only the selected nodes responds changes in view level when being displayed.

Abstract: Systems and method for dynamic creation of product structure using a graphical user interface (GUI) are disclosed. A method for dynamic creation of products structures may include displaying information specifying a set of product items using the GUI. Input can be received via the GUI. The input may be indicative of one or more product levels within a product structure. A user may indent or otherwise manipulate the set of product items into one or more product levels. A product structure can then be generated based on the one or more product levels. In some embodiments, display of the set of product items can be updated to reflect the product structure.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method which, in one embodiment, enables a user to navigate the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). The method initially involves uploading a delimited HTS file, and using it to create a wizard which optionally allows the user to navigate a series of options menus, or alternatively, the entire menu hierarchy can be displayed on the same screen. The selections made at every menu is saved for future reference.
