  • Patent number: 8701051
Abstract: The delivery of targeted advertisements (ads) to wireless mobile handheld display devices (MHDDs) with client specific advertisement and dynamic content for response and feedback is becoming important in advertising. As the return for ads on MHDDs becomes higher, there is a push to show larger and more interactive ads on devices that have small displays. This has created a need to maximize the area available for ad viewing. The need for larger viewing area reduces the area available for call-to-action response enabling switches or inserts on the screen for customer interaction. To overcome this deficiency and provide the necessary end-to-end response capability, hot-spots on the ad image are provided as call-to-action response regions without limitation on the ad viewing area. The use of such hot-spots provides users of MHDDs a preferred interaction mechanism for responding to the advertisement, while maintaining a large ad viewing area.

  • Patent number: 8661363
Abstract: A method performed at an electronic device that has one or more processors, memory, and a touch-sensitive display includes transferring a set bounce call to provide a bounce operation. Transferring the set bounce call causes a bounce of a scrolled content region in an opposite direction of a scroll. The scrolled region includes an information object that bounces in the opposite direction of the scroll when the information object reaches or intersects a terminus, and the scrolled content region has a first velocity before the bounce and a second velocity, distinct from the first velocity, after the bounce.

  • Patent number: 8645851
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for generating displays based on a layout with inconsistent constraints. The layout specifies a set of rectangular components within a container rectangle. A plurality of grid lines is determined from the layout. Each rectangular component is associated with at least two grid lines that are based on a size of the rectangular component. A system of constraints is generated that includes inconsistent constraints. A graph including a plurality of nodes and a plurality of edges is generated from the plurality of grid lines and the system of constraints. A variant of the Bellman-Ford algorithm configured to operate with the inconsistent constraints solves a single-source path-length problem for the graph to determine locations for the grid lines. A display of the rectangular components is generated based on the locations of the grid lines.
