Abstract: A computer implemented method is represented for providing to a user a context menu with entries representing relationships. The relationships are applicable to relate objects selected from a set of objects. The method comprises following method operations: receiving a first identification of a first selected object from the set of objects, receiving a second identification of a second selected object from the set of objects, identifying object types of the selected objects in a plurality of object types, determining one or more relationship types of which one or more relationships are applicable to the selected objects by using the identified object types, and generating for the context menu an entry representing a relationship of the one or more relationship types, wherein the relationship is selectable by the user to be created between the selected objects.

Abstract: A method for managing a communication event in an information handling system (IHS) is disclosed herein. The method includes receiving at least one communication event at an interrupt manager, wherein the interrupt manager manages the at least one communication event from an application. The method further includes receiving a selection of an interrupt manager setting in response to at least one communication event and generating at least one event notification based on the interrupt manager setting selected.

Abstract: Certain example embodiments described herein relate to server-controlled display techniques for nested multi-level client dialog boxes. On the client side, standard dialog elements are shown in the dialog box. Client-side events, e.g., caused by user interaction with the dialog box, are converted to parameters for a function call to the server and are processed there. The dialog box display may be updated by transferring (possibly only) dialog item changes that result from the function call back to the client. The server may process separate threads and bundle dialog and sub-dialog data in one function, and the server may split the bundled data for dialog and/or sub-dialog box rendering, as appropriate. Thus, an advantage of certain example implementations is that no dialog-specific logic (e.g., data access, dialog specific functions, etc.) needs to exist on the client side. Instead, the client side may simply render a fixed set of dialog box items.

Abstract: A control device controls an external storage device with a plurality of storage units which can be driven and stopped independently. The control device comprises: a display control unit; a setting unit; and a control signal output unit. The display control unit displays on a display a selection screen that allows a user to select which storage unit from among the plurality of storage units to operate. The setting unit sets a storage unit selected by the user as an operating storage unit to be operated. The control signal output unit outputs to the external storage device a control signal for having the operating storage unit be operated.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for alerting users of a plurality of computers of a security event via a network. A security alert is first generated including information relating to a security event utilizing a server. The security alert is then pushed from the server to a plurality of computers via a network. The information of the security alert is then automatically displayed in a front most window of a user interface of the computers.

Abstract: A method, system, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for the interactive notification of events is provided. A notification client application program executes in a background state and receives notifications from a business application server computer that an event has occurred. The notification may include a request to display a visual indication that the event has occurred, including a description of the event. In response to the request, the notification client application program displays a user interface window on the client computer including a description of the event that has occurred. The user interface window may include hyperlinks to additional Web content regarding the event, for scheduling appointments, for purchasing goods or services, or for placing a telephone call regarding the event.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a system and a method for establishing a separate session during an on-line session. In one aspect, a method for establishing a session with a server during an on-line transaction session is provided. The method includes detecting an on-line payment page and inserting a code into the on-line payment page, wherein the code is scripted to open a first pop-up window. The method further includes prompting a user via the first pop-up to answer a question, wherein the question is used to determine if a secure payment process is to be used. Additionally, the method includes opening the session with the server via a second pop-up window if the answer to the question is affirmative.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for compensating for deficiencies existing in programs to assist a user through installing a program. Polling the status of jobs requested by the user of a workstation is done so that the user may eventually be provided with status reports regarding the jobs being executed. The user can set parameters during loading of System Modification Program Extended (SMPE) libraries, install, migrate, fallback, remigrate and update procedures for the program. An indication is provided to a user of a workstation as steps of a task have been completed by the user. The health of catalog and directory databases may be verified before a migrate procedure is performed. The user of the program can be informed regarding parameters whose default values have changed, which parameters are of particular concern to the specific user.

Abstract: One or more embodiments of the invention provide a method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for defining mating properties of a graphical component in a computer-implemented drawing program. An option to create a first constraint interface for a first geometric characteristic of a first component is initiated. In response to the initiation, a dialog window for specifying settings for the first constraint interface regardless of whether a second constraint interface is currently displayed is displayed. The settings define mating properties for how the first geometric characteristic of the first component mates with the second constraint interface. Once specified, the first constraint interface of the first geometric characteristic is persisted with the first component.
