Source-to-source Programming Language Translation Patents (Class 717/137)
  • Patent number: 9146750
Abstract: A system obtains code that includes sequences of code; identifies, within a first sequence of code and based on obtaining the code, a first routine that, when executed, enables an array of values to be generated. The array of values is associated with a variable included within the first routine. The system determines whether the routine includes a particular term, and identifies, within the routine, a first identifier when the routine includes the particular term. The first identifier corresponds to a second sequence of code that identifies a first data structure that stores information that identifies one or more second routines. The system identifies, within the data structure, a second routine based on the particular term and a second identifier corresponding to the first routine; executes, using the variable, the second routine to generate a result; and outputs the result based on executing the second routine.

  • Patent number: 9113279
Abstract: A method adjusts a hearing apparatus and thus provides a simplified hearing aid. In the method, a model is created which describes individual hardware components of the hearing apparatus. In addition a formal language is created on the basis of the model. The formal language is used to develop a program. The program is translated into machine executable code. The code is then transferred to the hearing apparatus, the execution of which causes the hearing apparatus to be adjusted automatically in accordance with the program. As an alternative to the transfer to the hearing system, the code is executed by a hearing aid adjustment program and a target parameter set for the hearing apparatus which the adjustment program then transfers into the hearing apparatus is thus calculated.

  • Patent number: 9063765
Abstract: Dynamic program translation is utilized to convert an executable program in a first language executable representation to a second language executable representation that is either optimal or essentially required for execution within a defined execution environment on a client computer system. A dynamic translator, typically executed on a first computer system, is invoked in response to a request from a second computer system to provide an identified executable program. The dynamic translator performs an execution path analysis and optimized translation from a first representation, such as a Java class file, to generate executable code in the second representation, such as JavaScript. Optimizations include cross-language feature modifications, selective replacement of nominally un-translatable code portions, and insertion of call-back service requests to dynamically emulate services required in the execution of the program.

Abstract: Embodiments create a binding specifications file that is compatible with a user interface application from a grammar rich XML file. The grammar rich XML file uses a complex DTD for transformation. The complex DTD may be prone to error if created by the user, therefore, the complex DTD file is automatically created from a schema definition provided by the user or user's agent. The user or user's agent defines a schema for the desired grammar level. Through a series of XSL transformations, the complex DTD file is created. Also, a stylesheet used for transforming the grammar rich XML file is automatically created. The grammar rich XML file provided by the user conforms to the automatically created complex DTD file. Thus, the grammar used in defining bindings of a user interface application is extensible without any requirement to enrich and recompile the application anytime an extension of the language is desired.

Abstract: The disclosed subject matter provides for software testing using metaphor based language fuzzing. Metaphor based language fuzzing can decompose a code segment into a metaphor representing the code segment. The metaphor can be mutated based on determined logical perturbations to any element of the metaphor. The mutation of the metaphor can act as a surrogate for mutation of the code segment. The mutated metaphor can be analyzed to reveal performance differences in comparison to the code segment. These performance difference can be correlated to mutation of the metaphor such that a corresponding mutation of the code segment can be correlated by extrapolation. Moreover, mutators can be stored and reused on other metaphors. Furthermore, employing a metaphor as a root language surrogate can facilitate generating a reduced number of mutators as compared to directly mutating code segments in a plurality of computer languages.

Abstract: The illustrative embodiment of the present invention provides a platform that enables a content developer to distribute uniform content to multiple types of requesting mobile devices. By authoring content in a generic markup language and using the technologies included in the Mobile Content Framework (MCF), the content developer is able to provide content to multiple types devices without providing different versions of the content. The content may be authored originally in the generic markup language or translated from other languages into the generic markup language by the MCF. The MCF exploits the capabilities and accommodates the limitations of different types of wireless devices by converting generic markup language content to device-specific content. The MCF interacts with device registries holding records of the device attributes in order to provide the device-specific content. The MCF handles these issues for current mobile devices while also being extensible for future mobile devices.

  • Patent number: 8819648
Abstract: Execution of non-native operating system images within a virtualized computer system is improved by providing a mechanism for retrieving translated code physical addresses corresponding to un-translated code branch target addresses using a host code map. Hardware acceleration mechanisms, such as content-accessible look-up tables, directory hardware, or processor instructions that operate on tables in memory can be provided to accelerate the performance of the translation mechanism. The virtual address of the branch instruction target is used as a key to look up a corresponding record that contains a physical address of the translated code page containing the translated branch instruction target, and execution is directed to the physical address obtained from the record, once the physical page containing the translated code corresponding the target address is loaded in memory.
