Abstract: A contoured roller set and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. A male roller having a convex surface and a pair of female rollers each having a concave surface can receive a generally thin sheet of material and impart a doubly-curved shape to the sheet. The convex and concave surfaces of the male and female rollers can have a radius of curvature chosen to match a radius of curvature of the sheet of material. The rollers are positioned and shaped to urge the sheet between the female rollers to cause the sheet to curve toward the male roller.
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention discloses a method for operating a mill train, in particular used in a cold-rolling mill. The mill train includes operating rolls with a roll gap disposed in-between through which a rolled strip is guided. With the method of at least one embodiment, the thickness and the roll-in speed of the rolled strip are measured in front of the roll gap. The roll-out speed of the rolled strip after the roll gap is reconstructed with the aid of the tangential speed of the operating rolls. The thickness after the roll gap is then determined with the aid of the thickness and the roll-in speed in front of the roll gap and the reconstructed roll-out speed.
Abstract: A method of increasing control precision of a path of a product in a leveling machine including: a fixed support cage; two leveling assemblies with parallel rollers, which are placed above and below the strip respectively; devices necessary to adjust the interlocking of the rollers; a mechanism for measuring leveling forces at least of two sides of the machine; and a theoretical pre-setting model. The method directly measures at least one value for the spacing of the leveling rollers, which is compared to reference values, and uses the members for adjusting the position of the leveling rollers to maintain the measured values equal to the reference values. The method is particularly suitable for machines used to level flat metal products.
Abstract: The method and the device for manufacturing an acoustically effective foil stack (9) made of embossed foil webs (5e, 5f, 5g, 5h) is characterised by the fact that at least two foil webs lying over one another (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) are embossed at the same time, are conveyed along different length conveying routes (W, W1, W2, W3), and then are brought together into a stack (9), and embossed foil webs (5e, 5f, 5g, 5h) arranged to be lying next to one another are laid down in an offset fashion due to the different length conveying routes (W, W1, W2, W3). A particularly advantageous-design of the embossing rollers (1a, 1b) provides foil webs which have knobs with a draped or folded type structure.
Abstract: Work rolls opposed to each other have shafts rotatably supported by upper and lower work roll chocks of a housing, a screw down device for applying a predetermined pressure to the upper work roll is provided in an upper portion of the housing, screw mechanisms capable of thrusting the work roll chocks in a horizontal direction are provided on an entry side or a delivery side of the housing, hydraulic cylinder mechanisms capable of thrusting the work roll chocks in the horizontal direction are provided on the other side, and contraction portions are provided in hydraulic supply and discharge pipes of the hydraulic cylinder mechanisms.
