  • Patent number: 9789527
Abstract: A tube bending tool (1) comprising support surfaces (2, 2?, 2?), between said surfaces a tube (3), to be bent, is placed. A pressure exerting unit (6) with an extension (8) displaceable towards the tube (3), where a convex, bent bearing surface (10) is provided in order to press against the tube (3) when said extension (8) delivers a force from the pressure exerting unit (6). The front portion (9) comprises elongated elements (12, 12?). The outer ends of the elongated elements (12, 12?) comprise displaceable and movable support elements which press on the outer surface of the tube. The inner ends (13, 13?) of the elongated elements are cross-laid and movable, so that they during bending, press in a direction towards the center of the bending radius of the tube (3), at the same time as different radii of the bend (5) can be provided on different places. There is also an optional limiting means for bends over 90 degrees.

  • Patent number: 7191635
Abstract: A press mounted cam has a slide guided on an adapter by structural features including as one or more T blocks fixed to the slide and received in a respective channel formed in the adapter. In an aerial cam embodiment, a vertical clearance space is provided between the T block and adapter channel such that positive driving engagement between cam surfaces on the slide and the adapter is momentarily delayed after the initial engagement of the slide and driver surfaces to let the momentum of the slide be absorbed prior to the beginning of positive driving by the press motion, reducing shock and noise. The slide is laterally located with respect to the driver by an upwardly projecting locator-guide key on the driver received in a central channel in the slide. A positive return is provided by engagement of a driver key having T features received in a T-shaped slide channel and captured therein when the slide is driven laterally.

  • Patent number: 7134313
Abstract: A tool mounting and method for adjustably mounting a tool holder on a cam slide of a press mounted cam also including an adapter body and driver. The tool mounting includes a tooling plate adjustably secured to the cam slide by a series of dowel pins closely fit in dowel pin openings in the cam slide and loosely fit in dowel pin holes in the tooling plate to allow vertical and horizontal adjustment. A channel extends to each oversized dowel pin opening to enable injection of a setting material to lock the tooling plate in its adjusted position after being aligned with a die opening using a pilot installed in a tool holder mounted on one side of the tooling plate. An alignment plate is installed over the other side to cover the channel to each oversized dowel pin hole and allow removal and replacement of the tooling plate without disturbing the adjusted position on the tooling plates.

  • Patent number: 6990844
Abstract: Narrow aerial and die-mount cams, each having a cam adapter, a driver and a slide sandwiched between the cam adapter and driver. The narrow aerial cam slide has an elongate primary portion that has a T-shaped cross-section and has a primary bearing surface, and the cam adapter has a rectangular recess. An elongate keeper plate having a longitudinal slot is secured to each side of the cam adapter adjacent the rectangular recess to slidably retain the primary portion of the slide within the longitudinal slots and the rectangular recess. The primary bearing surface and a pair of intermediate bearing surfaces formed in the slide below the primary portion slidably support the keeper plates and thus the cam adapter. The driver slidably supports the slide. The narrow die-mount cam is basically an inverted version of the aerial cam.

  • Patent number: 5487296
Abstract: A universal cam unit for use in a power press comprising a driver assembly, a slide block to which the working tool is mounted, and a mounting bracket for coupling the slide block to the ram for movement therewith. The slide block is slidably mounted to move between a retracted and an extended position. The slide block and the driver assembly include parallel inclined bearing surfaces which abut when the pressure pad and the ram are lowered. As the ram motion continues, the inclined bearing surfaces slide against each other thereby causing the slide block to move from the retracted to the extended position. The movement of the slide block brings the tool into engagement with a workpiece disposed between the pressure pad unit and the lower die to perform a desired operation. The components of the universal cam unit may be disassembled and selectively replaced, so that the unit may be quickly and easily adapted for use in a desired application.
