  • Patent number: 11890663
Abstract: A device is configured for opening a heat exchanger core from a U-shape to a V-shape. Such heat exchanger core has a plurality of parallel flat tubes, each having two ends; and two manifolds. Each of the flat tubes has two straight sections adjacent to the manifolds and an intermediate bent section. The device has two hinged frames, a respective clamp arrangement on each of the hinged frames for holding the two manifolds, and a trough shaped support for the intermediate portion. For opening the U-shaped heat exchanger core, the heat exchanger core is inserted into the device, and the two manifolds are secured with the clamp arrangements. The clamp arrangements are separated from one another by pivoting apart the two hinged frames, on which the clamps are mounted. Simultaneously, the intermediate bent section is pushed toward the trough adapted to provide a desired curvature to the intermediate section.

  • Patent number: 8387435
Abstract: A method and a device for bending a metal hollow thick walled member to a predetermined angle without deviation of the bending center position and without separation from a half die when presser die moves up. With a pair of guide plates (GP1 and GP2) turnably attached to a center pin CP kept horizontal and the axis center of the center pin intersecting with the axis center of the metal hollow thick walled member PM, the member PM is mounted on a half die (82a). When die holding members (80a and 80b) fixedly connected to the above guide plates and kept horizontal are inclined and separated from each other as the center pin lowers, the member PM is bent to the predetermined angle and held on the half die (82b). When the center pin that can be moved vertically by a guide member moves down to a predetermined position, a contact portion (96b) contacts the inclined surface of a stopper (92b) to allow a base plate (16) to receive a pressing force from an upper die via the stopper.

In stead, there are used one or a few pairs of lower bar molds provided with a push spring, etc. as a rotary control. By controlling the rotation of the lower bar molds, the metal plate is pressed thereby to the metal contact surfaces of lower bar molds. The pressure of the upper mold is properly conveyed to the metal plate. According as the bending angle of the metal plate for which it is used, it is neatly bent and there are formed no scratches thereon. Thus, improvements are made in the bending preciseness and quality of the metal plate.
