Patent number: 12214411Abstract: A tubing bender device includes a frame, handle, ratchet mechanism, slide rod and a frame notch. The tubing bender may be easily disassembled and assembled into a forward or reverse configuration through the use of connectors, two brackets and a bending mandrel. Reversibility is also provided by a cross bow bar support releasably secured to either the slide rod or to a bracket. The cross bow bar support may also be inverted to position die heads in either an upward or downward direction. Repositionable die heads may also be rotated relative to the support into an operative configuration when bending smaller diameter tubing. The repositionable die heads are rotated relative to the support into a non-operative configuration when bending larger diameter tubing.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2023Date of Patent: February 4, 2025Assignee: Ritchie Engineering Company, Inc.Inventor: Gregory M. Patent number: 10144049Abstract: The invention relates to a tool for shaping a material, in particular for bending plate material, comprising a mounting part configured to be in any case partially received in a receiving space of an apparatus, and a shaping part extending from the mounting part. The tool is provided with means for displacing the mounting part in longitudinal direction through the receiving space. The tool can thus be handled and positioned easily even when it is relatively heavy. The displacing means can comprise one or more displacing members protruding from the tool, for instance rollers or wheels. The invention also relates to a combination of an apparatus and such a tool, wherein the apparatus has a receiving space in which the mounting part of the tool is received. The receiving space here comprises a wall part on which the displacing means engage. Finally, the invention further relates to a method for positioning a tool as described above in an apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2013Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: Wila B.V.Inventors: Thomas Jan Herbert Jansen, Franciscus Wilhemus Rouweler

Patent number: 7412867Abstract: The present invention relates to the tool for working tubes. The tool includes a body having hinged thereto a trigger for moving back-and-fourth, and which is connected to a support member supporting a working head. A drive device is provided for driving the support member mounted on the body and connected to the trigger. The support member includes a toothed rack, and the drive device includes a first toothed gearwheel having a first module and meshing with the rack, a drive pawl serving to advance the rack forwards, and a retaining pawl preventing it from moving backwards. The drive device includes a second toothed gearwheel having a second module smaller than the first module, the second gear-wheel being secured to the first gearwheel, the drive pawl and the retaining pawl being engaged with the second gearwheel.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2006Date of Patent: August 19, 2008Assignee: ViraxInventor: Yves-Sébastien Boulin

Patent number: 6993950Abstract: A portable devic for bending and cutting rebar, reinforcing rod, and the like. For cutting, a shaft assembly is movable along a first longitudinal axis (A—A) between a retracted and an extended position. A movable cutting head carried by the shaft assembly coacts with a fixed cutting head to shear rebar disposed between the cutting heads when the shaft assembly is moved to the extended position. For bending, a push rod movable along a second longitudinal axis (C—C) parallel to the first axis (A—A) couples movements of the shaft assembly through a clevis to a crankshaft such that longitudinal movements of the shaft assembly cause rotational movements of the crankshaft about an axis substantially perpendicular to axis (A—A). A first driven wheel, mounted for rotation with the crankshaft, has one or more bending blocks attached to the wheel by a radial arm.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2003Date of Patent: February 7, 2006Inventor: William Bryan

Patent number: 6732564Abstract: An American style press brake tool and tool holder having a safety key. The holder has a body with walls defining a downwardly open, tool receiving recess having a top, a downwardly facing force-delivering shoulder adjacent the bottom of said recess, and a shelf within said recess having an upwardly facing surface spaced upwardly from said force-delivering shoulder. The tool comprises a body having a lower work-engaging surface, an upwardly facing force-receiving shoulder engageable with the shoulder of the tool holder, and an upwardly extending tang receivable in said recess, the upper end of the tang being spaced from the top of the recess. A manually operable actuator is spaced below said force-receiving shoulder, and a safety key is coupled to the actuator for movement horizontally into and out of alignment with the shelf between locked and unlocked positions, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2002Date of Patent: May 11, 2004Assignee: Wila B.V.Inventors: David M. Runk, Glen M. Shuldes, Heath E. Harrington
