Linkage Actuated Patents (Class 72/390.4)
  • Patent number: 11517356
Abstract: A spinal plate bender includes an actuation assembly, a collet, and a head portion. The actuation assembly includes a housing, a lever pivotably coupled to the housing, a linkage pivotably coupled to the lever, and an actuation shaft operatively coupled with the linkage. The lever is transitionable between a neutral position and an actuated position, which imparts axial displacement to the actuation shaft. The collet includes a proximal section, a sleeve section extending distally from the proximal section, and a coupling section extending distally from the sleeve section. The head portion is configured to support a spinal plate. The head portion includes an anvil portion coupled to a distal end portion of the actuation shaft. The anvil portion is configured to engage a spinal plate to cause bending of a spinal plate supported in the head portion.

Abstract: The invention deals with the field of bending presses, and, more precisely, deals with a device for handling the upper table moving along guiding pillars and carrying the punch. For every table guiding pillar, the device provides for a main lever (10) hinged in a point that is substantially axial with its related guiding pillar and whose driving arm (10a) is hinged to means sliding along a rod hinged to the upper table. The lever resisting arm (10b), whose length is approximately 8–10 cm shorter that the driving arm length, rotates a crank (12) connected through an eccentric (13) or a connection rod to a connecting rod (14) that transmits the translating motion to the upper table.

  • Patent number: 6865921
Abstract: A material bender for bending a stock material into a desired shape. The material bender has a base plate on which is mounted a die holder that holds a die shaped to provide the desired bend shape, a ram guide configured to provide a ram path for guiding a bending ram that pushes against the stock material, and various upwardly projecting pins configured to support the material as it is bent by the bending ram. In one configuration, the bending ram pushes against the stock material to cause it to bend against the die. In another configuration, the bending ram pushes against the stock material to cause it to bend against one or more of the upwardly projecting pins. The base plate is configured to be mounted on a mounting plate of a mounting apparatus that includes a support frame configured to attach to the hitch of a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6644087
Abstract: A rod bender includes a ram shaft, having a distal end with an arcuate rod contact surface, that is movable along a shaft path that passes between two rollers, each having a curved roller surface. Each of the rollers is positionable, in an analog manner, at a variety of positions along a respective roller path, relative to a distal position of the arcuate rod contact surface. A straight rod, positioned against the rollers so that it spans the space separating the rollers and crosses the shaft path, can be rammed with the ram shaft so that the rod is bent into an arc. The rod is bent as the movement of the ram shaft pushes the arcuate rod contact surface forward against the center of the rod, while the curved roller surfaces prevent corresponding forward movement of the lateral portions of the rod.
