The apparatus positively couples linear guiding forces in the ventral, dorsal, cranial, and caudal directions. The guiding handle attachment positively couples rotational guiding forces about the vertical dorsoventral axis and the horizontal anteroposterior axis. Freedom of rotation is provided about the lateral horizontal left-right axis. The user is able to laterally adjust the distance between grip and the harness.

    Abstract: A heat exchanger is disclosed for the exhaust gas line of a motor vehicle including at least one exchanger tube that is formed separately and disposed in a closed housing formed separately, a coolant flowing through the housing and around the outside of the exchanger tube. An inlet and/or an outlet of the exchanger tube are located outside the housing, wherein the exchanger tube is guided through a wall of the housing at a feed-through point in a coolant- and/or exhaust gas-tight manner. Additionally, a manufacturing method for the heat exchanger and an assembly tool which can be advantageously used in the method are disclosed.

    Abstract: A frame rail pulling apparatus for realigning a frame rail of a vehicle is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base, backing plate, side sway adapter, eye hook and fasteners. The base includes a platform with openings therein, cylinder, and side supports which distribute pressure equally from the cylinder to the openings in the platform. The backing plate has openings therein and is positioned adjacent to a first side of the base. The backing plate distributes pulling pressure over a greater area of the frame rail to prevent additional damage to the rail during realignment. The side sway adapter has a center opening and peripheral/end openings and is positioned adjacent to a second side of the base. The eye hook has a top portion and a shaft, wherein the shaft is positioned through the center opening of the side sway adapter and attaches to the base.

Rotation of the cylinder yoke (32) relative to the cylinder (22) prevents injury to an operator in the event that the tool binds and torques. An implement unit (50), which is either a cutter (54) or a spreader (74), is detachably disposed onto the piston rod (24). Pivotal links (36) connect the unit (50) to the cylinder yoke (32), with the unit used for cutting or spreading metal during a rescue. A plurality of quick release pins (72) attach the implement unit (50) to the piston rod (24) and pivotal links, thus providing a rapid release of the implement unit (50) from the piston rod (24) and links (36) for replacement or repair.

The rescue device is used to expedite the lifting and removal of the steering column and dashboard using existing winches, power spreaders or extension ram devices, either manual, air or hydraulic powered, to engage the hook attached below the steering column and lift it from the dash bridge spanning from the hood of the car to the roof of the car, bridging the windshield through which the hook extends, and lifting the steering wheel in a vertical direction off the lap and chest of the victim. Unrestricted access to the victim from the passenger compartment of the vehicle and transfer to emergency transport vehicles for critical care is expedited over other existing emergency extraction device techniques.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for expanding a lower string of casing into frictional contact with an upper string of casing, and thereby hanging the lower string of casing onto the upper string of casing is provided. The apparatus essentially defines a lower string of casing having a separation region formed in the top end thereof. The lower string of casing is run into the wellbore, and positioned so that the top end overlaps with the bottom end of an upper string of casing already cemented into the wellbore. The top end of the lower casing string is expanded below the depth of the separation region into frictional contact with the upper string of casing. At the same time, or shortly thereafter, the top end of the upper string of casing is expanded. As the portion of the lower casing string having the separation region is expanded, the casing severs into upper and lower portions.

This notched configuration also ensures that one wedge, used in tandem with another wedge, is highly resistant to slippage of any kind between the two wedges. Each wedge utilizes a structural configuration that maximizes strength of the wedge while minimizing any extra weight, something that is to be avoided by firefighters who are already heavily burdened with other firefighting equipment and protective gear. This structural configuration allows each wedge to be used as a tool for turning a valve when such is desired or required.

    Abstract: A hanger for use in joining tubulars includes an inner tubular with a first portion of length with increasing wall thickness and a second portion of length with decreasing wall thickness through the same longitudinal direction. A swedge sized to expand the inner tubular beyond the yield point to engage and expand the outer tubular is to be drawn through the inner tubular. With the variation in wall thickness, the outer tubular is progressively expanded in an increasing manner and then in a decreasing manner. The difference in inelastic expansion operates to insure an appropriate ultimate fit at one or two areas between the overlapping tubulars. The inner tubular may include a nipple affixed to a liner or may include a liner with an outer filler. In one case, the nipple has varying wall thickness while in the other the filler exhibits the varying wall thickness. A segmented swedge includes portions of the part lines between adjacent segments which are circumferential.
