  • Patent number: 11311929
Abstract: A device for lightening the weight of vehicle components includes a tooling provided with a seat wherein the component is formed and a plurality of moveable bodies, which are moveable between an initial position and a final position, such that in the final position one end of each moveable body penetrates the seat of the tooling to form a cavity to lighten the weight of a component of the vehicle, wherein at least one of the moveable bodies can move laterally. Such device allows lightening the weight in a more simple and productive way than in currently known systems. This is achieved because the moveable bodies do not interfere with each other during the movement thereof, such that the lightening process can be done in a single blow during a forging procedure.

  • Publication number: 20130205853
Abstract: The aim of this invention is easy to use, practical, light, compact, mobile tool, designed for restoration of the formwork props. This tool very effectively removes uneven places and dents present inside the formwork prop without the need for electric power. No special premises or sites are needed for restoration of the formwork props. The tool is very compact and easily packed into a case-shaped box. When performing formwork prop restoration works, no special physical power of a person is necessary. All of the previously mentioned characteristics are ensured by the special design of this tool, where one ending is inlet into the damaged formwork prop close to the place, which is to be repaired, while the other ending, when using the screwdriver, is rotated around its axis. This rotary motion in one ending of the tool pulls the wedge, which is in the other ending of the tool, and, in this way, it spreads the plates, which touch the walls of the formwork prop, and evens them.

An inlet and/or an outlet of the exchanger tube are located outside the housing, wherein the exchanger tube is guided through a wall of the housing at a feed-through point in a coolant- and/or exhaust gas-tight manner. Additionally, a manufacturing method for the heat exchanger and an assembly tool which can be advantageously used in the method are disclosed.

Abstract: A method for repairing metal pipe with dents includes steps of a) holding the pipe with first and second ends in position; b) dragging the mandrel through the pipe; and c) pushing out the dents from inside to an original level of the surface of the pipe. The cross-section of the mandrel has a substantially same cross-section of the hollow space of a undamaged pipe, and the outer surface of the major portion of the mandrel fits tightly to the inside of the undamaged pipe. The step of holding the pipe includes steps of a) guiding the pipe into a locking position; b) stopping the pipe along the direction of the axis of the pipe; and c) stopping the pipe along the perpendicular direction of the axis of the pipe.

Abstract: A frame rail pulling apparatus for realigning a frame rail of a vehicle is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base, backing plate, side sway adapter, eye hook and fasteners. The base includes a platform with openings therein, cylinder, and side supports which distribute pressure equally from the cylinder to the openings in the platform. The backing plate has openings therein and is positioned adjacent to a first side of the base. The backing plate distributes pulling pressure over a greater area of the frame rail to prevent additional damage to the rail during realignment. The side sway adapter has a center opening and peripheral/end openings and is positioned adjacent to a second side of the base. The eye hook has a top portion and a shaft, wherein the shaft is positioned through the center opening of the side sway adapter and attaches to the base.

Abstract: A hydraulic rescue tool (20) that utilizes a hydraulic cylinder (22) having a piston rod (24) that is movably disposed within the housing of the cylinder to provide linear driving means for the rescue tool. A cylinder yoke (32) is rotatably attached to the hydraulic cylinder housing and includes a front handle bar (34) for manipulating the tool. Rotation of the cylinder yoke (32) relative to the cylinder (22) prevents injury to an operator in the event that the tool binds and torques. An implement unit (50), which is either a cutter (54) or a spreader (74), is detachably disposed onto the piston rod (24). Pivotal links (36) connect the unit (50) to the cylinder yoke (32), with the unit used for cutting or spreading metal during a rescue. A plurality of quick release pins (72) attach the implement unit (50) to the piston rod (24) and pivotal links, thus providing a rapid release of the implement unit (50) from the piston rod (24) and links (36) for replacement or repair.

  • Patent number: 6941791
Abstract: The dash bridge and hook rescue device is a two piece emergency rescue tool utilized in the extraction of accident victims from underneath a dashboard and steering column as the result of an automobile accident where severe injuries are incurred by the victim. The rescue device is used to expedite the lifting and removal of the steering column and dashboard using existing winches, power spreaders or extension ram devices, either manual, air or hydraulic powered, to engage the hook attached below the steering column and lift it from the dash bridge spanning from the hood of the car to the roof of the car, bridging the windshield through which the hook extends, and lifting the steering wheel in a vertical direction off the lap and chest of the victim. Unrestricted access to the victim from the passenger compartment of the vehicle and transfer to emergency transport vehicles for critical care is expedited over other existing emergency extraction device techniques.

  • Patent number: 6629567
Abstract: An apparatus and method for expanding a lower string of casing into frictional contact with an upper string of casing, and thereby hanging the lower string of casing onto the upper string of casing is provided. The apparatus essentially defines a lower string of casing having a separation region formed in the top end thereof. The lower string of casing is run into the wellbore, and positioned so that the top end overlaps with the bottom end of an upper string of casing already cemented into the wellbore. The top end of the lower casing string is expanded below the depth of the separation region into frictional contact with the upper string of casing. At the same time, or shortly thereafter, the top end of the upper string of casing is expanded. As the portion of the lower casing string having the separation region is expanded, the casing severs into upper and lower portions.

  • Patent number: 6616128
Abstract: The assembly of the present invention provides a number of deployable wedges, each of which may incorporate a brightly colored, reflective surface to make the wedge easily locatable visually. Each wedge provides a series of alternating notches and ridges that are formed in opposing faces of each wedge to ensure positive engagement between a door and a doorframe. This notched configuration also ensures that one wedge, used in tandem with another wedge, is highly resistant to slippage of any kind between the two wedges. Each wedge utilizes a structural configuration that maximizes strength of the wedge while minimizing any extra weight, something that is to be avoided by firefighters who are already heavily burdened with other firefighting equipment and protective gear. This structural configuration allows each wedge to be used as a tool for turning a valve when such is desired or required.
