Including Variable-speed Means Patents (Class 72/425)
  • Patent number: 8047033
Abstract: A plurality of press devices 2 are arranged in a plastic working system. The plastic working system includes: a loop correction sensor 13 for watching a slack of a coil material C intermittently delivered from a preceding first press device 2a; and a second slack watching means 19 for watching a slack of the coil material C generated at the time of sending the coil material C to a succeeding second press device 2b. According to the slack generated by intermittent feeding of the coil material C sent from the first press device 2a, intermittent feeding is converted to continuous feeding by the feeding means 15. At the same time, the continuous feeding speed is subjected to speed increasing/decreasing control. On the other hand, by the second slack watching means 19, a slack of the coil material C is watched at the time of feeding the coil material C to the second press device 2b and the preceding first press device 2a is subjected to speed increasing/decreasing control.

  • Patent number: 7204121
Abstract: A method for inserting blanks to be threaded in automatic rotary rolling machines, in which the step for inserting parts to be machined in the working position occurs at an adjustable, optimized rate, so that the portions of the outer surface of the roller tool affected by contact with the parts that have been inserted vary continuously at each turn of the spindle. This provides a significant reduction in surface wear of the roller, extending its useful life. The invention also relates to an automatic rotary rolling machine.

  • Patent number: 4969348
Abstract: This invention provides a feed system comprising a base on which a portion of the article being fed rests. The base extends along a feed path for the article. The feed system also includes at least one rotatable feed screw lying in an axis parallel to the feed path. The feed screw includes an entry end, a discharge end and a continuous, helical groove having a profile for receiving a portion of the article being fed. The feed system includes a linkage device for transferring reciprocating motion of a reciprocating press into which the articles are fed into rotary motion of the feed screw, and a feeding device for feeding articles into the groove at the entry end. The feed system also comprises a cooperating second screw or a resilient guide bar, for maintaining the article within and along the feed path as the feed screw is rotated.

  • Patent number: 4172377
Abstract: A high speed press for coining workpieces includes a head actuable by high pressure fluid. The high speed press also includes an advancing assembly for advancing individual workpieces to a position adjacent the head to be coined. The advancing assembly includes a reciprocating apparatus for advancing the individual workpieces to a position to be coined by the head. The advancing assembly is in fluid communication with the pressurized fluid employed to operate the head such that the operation of the advancing mechanism is synchronized with the operation of the head.

  • Patent number: 4104899
Abstract: A pneumatically buffered drive system is provided which quickly moves a movable member, such as a press safety curtain or press bolster, a predetermined length in three sequential speed stages to prevent maximum acceleration from occurring at the end of the predetermined length. The movable member is coupled to a differential pressure piston which is initially pressurized on only one side of the piston to initiate movement. After traversing approximately half the predetermined length both sides of the piston are pressurized to decelerate the piston during the member movement for approximately the next third of the predetermined length. The remaining length is traversed with the decelerating pressure being vented to positively finish the motion along the predetermined path. In vertical moving members having significant mass such as press safety curtains, a higher pressure is used to decelerate the piston than the pressure used to drive the piston.
