    Abstract: The tray braking device includes a tray, a tray motor, a sliding plate and a buffer structure. The tray is used for carrying a disc. The tray motor is used for driving the tray to a finish position from a first position. The sliding plate is disposed on a base. The buffer structure is disposed between the sliding plate and the base. When the tray moves to a second position from the first position, the tray moves at a first speed, and the second position is positioned between the first position and the finish position. When the tray moves towards the finish position from the second position, the tray drives the sliding plate to move, such that the buffer structure leans between the sliding plate and the base and generates deformation, making the tray move at a second speed slower than the first speed.

    Abstract: When a normal disk having the diameter of 12 cm is inserted into the disk device, first and second optical detecting elements detect the insertion, and transitions to a first detection state, which initiates transfer operation of first and second transfer rollers. If the disk is further moved to an inner portion of the device, thus pressing first and second detecting pins, first and second detecting switches are turned OFF, and the detecting elements enter a second detection state. Before the transition from the first detection state to the second detection state occurs, a rotating speed of the first and second transfer rollers is set low. After transition to the second detection state, the rotating speed is increased. As a result, a card or other such foreign objects can be removed and a monitoring period can be increased until detection of a normal disk is detected.

    Abstract: A disk apparatus includes a tray that moves with respect to a chassis fixed to an apparatus body to carry a disk, a drive unit that moves in a direction substantially orthogonal to the carrying direction of the tray with respect to the chassis to mount or dismount the disk placed on the tray, a pickup unit provided on the drive unit and having an optical pickup for recording or reproducing the disk, the pickup unit being movable in a radial direction of the disk, and a motor which is arranged on the drive unit and drives the drive unit, pickup unit and tray through a plurality of gears. A worm gear is attached to a motor shaft of the motor. Lead angle of the worm gear is set at 15°–30°.

An elastic plate and a stopper surface adapted to face a distal end of the elastic plate are formed on each of the projecting pieces and each of the dislocation preventive pieces or either on each of the projecting pieces or each of the dislocation preventive pieces. When the tray is moved forward, the elastic plate is brought into contact with the projecting piece or the dislocation preventive piece and is displaced elastically to thereby apply the brakes to stop the disk tray that is moving forward.

When the tray is in a stillness state in a set position where the recording medium can be set, the assist control means generates rotation torque T1. When an external force F comes in effect on the tray, rotation torque T2 is generated by friction between the driving transfer roller and the tray, but the rotation torque T1 becomes an assist force, and the driving transfer roller rotates while any slip between the tray and the driving transfer roller does not occur.

An optical disc placed on the tray can be prevented from being damaged by a shock produced during a movement of the tray, and the time period required for the loading operation and the unloading operation can be prevented from being prolonged.

Even though the system controller is abnormal, the sled motor and the lock mechanism of the tray are maintained at the non-driven state.

    Abstract: A disc device comprising a transfer unit operable to provide a transferring force to a disc inserted from the outside to transfer the disc into a storage area in the device, a sensor unit for detecting the position of the inserted disc, and a control unit for controlling a operational speed of the transfer unit. The control unit controls the operational speed of the transfer unit in the disc loading direction at a low-speed until the disc inserted from the outside reaches the transfer unit. The control unit then adjusts the operational speed of the transfer unit in the disc loading direction from a low-speed to a high-speed when the sensor unit detects that the disc is inserted into the position in which a transferring force from the transfer unit is given to the disc, or after a predetermined period of time has elapsed. Accordingly, the disc device reduces operation noise and resistance when the disc is inserted.
