Optical Card Patents (Class 720/618)
  • Patent number: 9032426
Abstract: A medium processing device may include a head which reads or writes data to a recording medium; and a flexible cable which is connected with the head. The flexible cable may be formed in a multilayer structure including a data signal layer formed with a data signal pattern and disconnection detecting signal layers which cover a front face and a rear face of the data signal layer and are formed with a disconnection detecting signal pattern. The flexible cable may also include a terminal connecting part formed with a through hole into which a signal terminal of the head is inserted and a terminal covering part folded to cover the terminal connecting part and fixed to the terminal connecting part.

Abstract: A data reproduction apparatus for reproducing audio data includes an insertion slot, formed to open horizontally, for loading a card-shaped storage medium. An ejector ejects the card-shaped storage medium through the insertion slot when operated externally. A cover is positioned outside the insertion slot, rotatable between open and closed positions, having a receiving surface, for extending outwards from a lower edge of the insertion slot when in the open position, to support a lower surface of the card-shaped storage medium moving inwards or outwards through the insertion slot on the receiving surface, and for covering the insertion slot when in the closed position, to close the insertion slot. Also, the cover includes first and second side guide projections, positioned on the receiving surface, for contacting lateral edges of the card-shaped storage medium, to guide during insertion and ejection.

  • Publication number: 20040107426
Abstract: The magnetic recording medium includes: an underlayer constituted of at least a substrate and a nonmagnetic metal element; and an amorphous magnetic layer, made of amorphous magnetic material, which magnetically records information, wherein the amorphous magnetic layer has bumps on a surface thereof or the magnetic recording medium has bumps on a surface thereof (surface of a lubricating layer) so that density of the bumps is not less than 400 bumps/&mgr;m2 or so that height of the bumps is not less than 2% with respect to an average layer thickness of the amorphous magnetic layer. Thus, magnetic wall movement of the amorphous magnetic layer is effectively suppressed, so that it is possible to stably form a recording bit. Therefore, even in a case of performing high-density recording by forming a minute recording bit, it is possible to record information with sufficient signal quality.
