Abstract: A disk drive includes: a cartridge holder that holds a disk cartridge including a disk, and has a holder opening, through which the cartridge is inserted and ejected; two guide walls arranged near the holder opening to define a direction in which the cartridge is inserted; a disk motor for rotating the disk mounted; a head for reading and/or writing information from/on the disk; a base for supporting the head and motor; first and second guide grooves cut through the holder; and first and second guide members movable along the first and second grooves, respectively, and engaging with respective portions of the cartridge.

Abstract: A housing opening and closing apparatus of a DVD camcorder includes a main frame in which a DVD is accommodated, a housing which is opened and closed with respect to the main frame, and a housing ejecting unit operated by a solenoid unit to open and close the housing. The housing ejecting unit may include a pair of connection members disposed on the housing and an ejecting member formed between the pair of connection members on the housing. A link member is rotatable about a first hinge axis, and the link member is adapted to contact the ejecting member. A sliding member is engaged with the first hinge axis and one end of the link member. The sliding member has a first end and a second end, and the sliding member is adapted to slide. A pair of locking members are rotated by sliding of the sliding member, and a solenoid unit is engaged with the first end of the sliding member. A third elastic member is disposed at the second end of the sliding member to oppose the solenoid unit.

Abstract: A recording and/or reproduction apparatus includes a chassis, a recording and/or reproduction device provided on the chassis so as to perform recording and/or reproduction on a disk cartridge, a cartridge holder for holding the disk cartridge, the cartridge holder being supported to be movable between a disk cartridge insertion/draw-out position and a recording/reproduction position relative to the chassis, an eject lever provided to be movable in the direction for insertion and draw-out of the disk cartridge relative to the chassis, a biasing device for biasing the eject lever in a disk cartridge discharging direction, a shutter unlocking member mounted to one side surface of the cartridge holder, and a shutter unlocking member movement restriction portion provided on the chassis and operable to restrict the shutter lock unlocking member from moving in the direction of spacing away from the one side surface when the cartridge holder is located in the recording/reproduction position.

Abstract: A disk recording/reproducing apparatus includes a chassis rotatably supporting a holder for storing a disk cartridge; an eject lever movably disposed in the chassis in an insertion/removal direction of the disk cartridge and movably in a direction toward or away from the chassis. The eject lever is rotated by being pushed by the disk cartridge 1 inserted into the holder. A cartridge drop preventive mechanism prevents the disk cartridge ejected by the eject lever from dropping from the cartridge holder. The cartridge drop preventive mechanism is formed from a flat spring disposed on one side surface of the holder and makes a sliding contact with one side surface of the disk cartridge during unloading of the cartridge so as to give the disk cartridge a braking force. This arrangement can prevent the disk cartridge from jumping out and dropping off from the cartridge holder during ejection.

Abstract: An optical disc device is provided with a tray for mounting a disc or a cartridge thereon, a chassis that is laid out under the tray, and a top plate that is laid out above the tray. The optical disc device comprises two types of holding mechanisms that form either a single disc mounting space or a cartridge mounting space according to a shape of a single disc or a cartridge to be mounted in the tray, and hold the single disc or the cartridge in the respective mounting space.

Abstract: A disc drive according to the present invention is adapted to a disk cartridge including: a disk; a body to contain the disk; a window provided for the body to allow a data reading and/or writing head to access the disk; a shutter for opening or closing the window; and a rotational member including a gear as a part of its outer periphery and rotating to open or close the shutter. The drive includes a shutter driving mechanism for opening and closing the shutter by rotating the rotational member of the disk cartridge, and the shutter driving mechanism includes a driving gear, which engages with the gear of the rotational member and which turns around a first rotation shaft. The first rotation shaft swings around the center of rotation of the rotational member of the disk cartridge that is held on the holding portion.

Abstract: A device for accommodating a cartridge including a holder supported at one end thereof by a pivot on a chassis and positionable as inclined upward with respect to the chassis for the cartridge to be inserted thereinto. A fitting pin is provided on the chassis and is fittable into a positioning cutout formed in a front end portion of the cartridge and opened as at opening on a front side thereof. The fitting pin has a top end positioned below the path L of movement of the upper end of the opening when the cartridge is inserted into the holder and positioned above the point X of intersection of the fitting pin with the path M of movement of the lower surface of the cartridge.

Abstract: In a signal recording or reproduction device for disks, release means for disengaging a lock slide from a holder when the holder is pivotally moved upward from a lowered position has a release piece slanting with respect to a plane containing a path of pivotal movement of the holder, attached at a base end thereof to a chassis and deformable by deflecting outward. The release piece extends from its base end along cartridge inserting and unloading directions. The release piece escapes from the lock slide by being deflected outward for deformation by contact with the lock slide when the slide is moved with the descent of the holder, and restores itself elastically upon passage of the lock slide. The lock slide as brought into contact with the lower end of the release piece when the holder is pivotally raised from the lowered position is disengaged from the holder by being so deflected for deformation.
