Having Dampening Patents (Class 720/716)
  • Patent number: 8607260
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a slip prevention member for a turntable. A friction layer prevents a slip of a disk placed on an upper surface thereof. A hardness reinforcing layer is provided under the lower surface of the friction layer. An adhesive layer is provided under the lower surface of the hardness reinforcing layer. A releasable sheet is attached to the lower surface of the adhesive layer. The slip prevention member reduces use of environmentally toxic material and uses the hardness reinforcing layer, thus preventing occurrence of vibrations and noise which may be induced when the hardness of the slip prevention member is relatively low.

  • Patent number: 8486320
Abstract: A spindle motor tray adhesive dispensing method and supplementary apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base block and a pressure block. The base block supports the tray to be processed, having a blind hole for receiving one end of the center axle of the tray and three adhesive troughs around the blind hole. The pressure block pressed on the tray above the base block and axially movable relative to the base block, having a guide hole for receiving the other end of the center axle of the tray. An open space is defined above the base block around the pressure block within which an adhesive dispenser is movable to dispense a polymer adhesive to the through holes on the tray and the adhesive troughs of the base block to form rubber pads at the tray when cured.

  • Patent number: 8281331
Abstract: A data storage medium support member is produced by resin molding. The data storage medium support member includes an accommodating portion, a guide portion, and a gate cut portion. The accommodating portion accommodates a magnetic member around a central axis. The guide portion has a guide surface for guiding an inner edge of a disc, and is arranged radially outward of the accommodating portion. The gate cut portion is formed on a rear surface of the guide portion. The data storage medium support member can be produced by the resin molding while securing space for accommodating the magnetic member and preventing an increase in the axial dimension of the data storage medium support member.

  • Publication number: 20110072447
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a disk drive motor which can prevent a disk from wobbling despite having a simple structure. The disk drive motor includes a turntable which is rotated by a drive unit and supports a disk thereon, and a disk support which is attached onto the turntable to support the disk thereon. Grooves are formed in the disk support. Each groove is inclined based on the radial direction of the turntable in the direction opposite to the direction in which the disk rotates. In the present invention, when a disk rotates, air which has been in a space between the turntable and the disk is discharged outside through the grooves, so that adsorption force is generated by a difference in pressure between the air and the space between the turntable and the disk. Therefore, the disk can be prevented from wobbling when rotating.

  • Patent number: 7823172
Abstract: A disk apparatus includes a head configured to move along a recording surface of a rotating disk; and a stabilizing member provided so as to face the disk. A facing surface of the stabilizing member facing the disk includes a curved surface whose symmetrical axis is a center generating line passing through a center of the facing surface. The head reciprocally moves along a path which is offset from the center generating line.

  • Patent number: 7610594
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a rotary driving device is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: mounting a turntable, which is equipped with an anti-slipping section on a disc-placeable surface, to a rotary shaft; rotating the turntable; and shaving off a disc-contact surface, with which a disc contacts when the disc is placed, of the anti-slipping section with a cutting tool through a cutting off machining method from outside of the disc-placeable surface toward the rotary shaft. A cutting edge of the cutting tool is placed widthwise in parallel with an end face of the anti-slipping section and thickness-wise along an axial direction of the rotary shaft. The cutting edge is set such that the sections of the tool other than the cutting edge do not touch the anti-slipping section.

  • Patent number: 7393575
Abstract: A damper component for absorbing and dissipating vibration and/or noise resonating from a device is provided. The damper component includes a viscoelastic damper layer, and a continuous constraining layer intimately contacting and encasing the damper layer. The constraining layer has a greater stiffness and higher modulus of dynamic shearing elasticity than the damper layer. The constraining layer is a molded sheet molding compound that is substantially immiscible with the viscoelastomer to provide a discrete interface between the constraining layer and the damper layer.
