Power Signal Over Network Patents (Class 725/150)
  • Patent number: 11502726
Abstract: Systems, methods and devices for a coaxial cable transmission system. A power supply receives a primary power signal from a power source. The power supply generates a switched direct current power signal from the primary power signal. A power gateway receives the switched direct current power signal over a coaxial cable from the power supply. The power gateway generates a secondary power signal from the switched direct current power signal. A load device receives the secondary power signal from the power gateway. In some implementations, the power supply generates the switched direct current power signal at a positive direct current voltage level for a first part of a time period and at a negative direct current voltage level for a second part of the time period.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel and a timing controller. The timing controller generates first output image data based on input image data and sets a driving frequency of the display panel as a first frequency in a first operation mode. The timing controller converts the input image data into second output image data and sets the driving frequency of the display panel as a second frequency lower than the first frequency in a second operation mode. The display panel displays a first image based on the first frequency and the first output image data in the first operation mode. The first image is represented by X grayscales. The display panel displays a second image based on the second frequency and the second output image data in the second operation mode. The second image is represented by Y grayscales, where Y is less than X.

  • Patent number: 8984578
Abstract: To simplify a power circuit of a transmitting apparatus (source equipment) connected to a receiving apparatus (sink equipment). Sink equipment 120 has a satisfactory power circuit 126. Initially, power is fed from source equipment 110 to the sink equipment 120. When the source equipment 110 intends to receive feed of power from the sink equipment 120, the source equipment 110 transmits request information on power feed to the sink equipment 120. The transmission is carried out using a reserved line, a power feed line, or a CEC line of a cable 130, or a high-speed bidirectional communication means. Abstract: A cable television receiver includes in-band and out-of-band tuners integrated on a single IC. A mode controller determines whether an out-of-band signal is being received and powers the out-of-band tuner off when no out-of-band signal is present. A signal divider divides the signals between the in-band and out-of-band tuners and may be an asymmetric coupler in order to provide a higher power signal to the in-band tuner and a lower power signal to the out-of-band tuner.

Abstract: A method for automatically searching a cable TV band is disclosed to effectively perform a cable TV band searching in a TV or a set-top box which is available for receiving a ground wave broadcast signal. The method includes the steps of: detecting a cable TV band for a channel of a VHF frequency band; and detecting a cable TV band for a channel of a frequency band a ground TV does not use in order to confirm whether the detected cable TV band is accurate.

Abstract: An efficient means for transmitting digitized return path signals over a cable television return path is disclosed. In one embodiment of the invention, the cable television return path includes a node that receives an analog return signal from a subtree of the cable television system and generates a digital transport signal representative of the analog return path signal. The digital transport signal, however, is not a digitized form of the analog return signal. Rather, the digital transport signal is encoded such that fewer bits are used to represent the analog return signal without substantially impacting the accuracy and dynamic range of the signal. At the hub, the digital transport signal is decoded and converted to produce an analog signal that is a close approximation of the analog return signal.

  • Patent number: 6393607
Abstract: A cable television tap (500) for receiving a forward signal including an information signal and a power signal. The tap (500) includes a diplex filter (520) for receiving the forward signal and for separating the information signal from the power signal at outputs of the diplex filter (520) and a plurality of subscriber ports (535) coupled to an output of the diplex filter (520) for receiving the information signal such that the information signal can be accessed at each of the plurality of subscriber ports (535). The tap (500) also includes a removable port device (555) coupled to the other output of the diplex filter (520) for receiving the power signal, and the port device (555) has a connector (550) so that the power signal can be accessed. According to the present invention, when the port device (555) is coupled to the tap (500), the information signal can only be accessed at the subscriber ports (535), and the power signal can only be accessed at the connector (550) of the port device (555).
