Patent number: 8950274Abstract: A method for monitoring oscillation characteristics in a Coriolis, flow measuring device and to a correspondingly formed, Coriolis, flow measuring device in the case of which an excited oscillatory system is simulated with a digital model, which has at least one fittable parameter. The simulating includes, in such case, excitating the digital model in the same manner as the oscillatory system, calculating a simulation response variable of the simulated oscillations according to the digital model, and, performed over a plurality of signal modulations, iterative conforming of the at least one, fittable parameter in such a manner that the simulation response variable interatively approaches the response variable. Furthermore, it is ascertained whether a corresponding limit value is exceeded by the at least one, interatively ascertained parameter value for the at least one, fittable parameter or by at least one variable derived from the at least one, iteratively ascertained parameter value.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2012Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignee: Endress + Hauser Flowtec AGInventor: Remy Scherrer

Patent number: 8701462Abstract: A shim stack testing apparatus and method of determining a stiffness of the shim stick may be employed to assemble a shim stack kit. The apparatus includes a testing jig that receives either a compression or rebound shim stack. The testing jig may be used with a variety of testing machines capable of determining force versus deflection. The test jig includes a simulated piston rod coupled to a simulated piston valve having apertures. The shim stack being tested may be coupled to the piston at a selected location and then deflected by a pre-determined amount by a loading fixture having elongated prongs. Once the pre-determined deflection is achieved, a corresponding force is identified and then an overall stiffness value for the shim stack is obtained. Tested shim stacks may be assembled into kits with each having an identified stiffness that may be compared to a baseline stiffness value.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2011Date of Patent: April 22, 2014Assignee: Renton Coil Spring CompanyInventor: Charles F. Publication number: 20070240487Abstract: A device (10, 10?) for checking the play of linkages of vehicles is provided and can include a first device (20) for production of oscillations, which is connected, via an extension element (30), with a contact element (40) for contacting the device (10, 10?) with the component to be tested, and a second device (50) for recording the oscillations produced in the component to be tested. A process for testing the play of vehicle linkages is also provided and can include the steps of producing oscillations with a first device (20), the oscillations being transmitted to a component to be measured via a contact element (40) which is connected via an extension element (30) with the first device (20), and recording the oscillations produced in the component to be measured with a second device (50).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2007Publication date: October 18, 2007Inventor: Werner ROGG

Patent number: 7191637Abstract: A method of testing a vibration damper mounted between a body and a wheel in a motor vehicle includes the steps of storing a parameter which corresponds to the damping force of a new vibration damper in a memory unit, wherein the parameter is the cushioning work of a tire relative to a defined excitation of a new vibration damper; subjecting the wheel to reciprocating excitation which causes the vibration damper to generate a damping force; determining the cushioning work of the tire based on the damping force during the reciprocating excitation; comparing the cushioning work of the tire during the reciprocating excitation with the parameter stored in the memory unit; and determining that the damper is defective when the cushioning work during the reciprocating excitation differs from the stored parameter by more than a predetermined amount.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2005Date of Patent: March 20, 2007Assignee: ZF Friedrichshafen AGInventor: Reinhard Sonnenburg
