  • Patent number: 10620231
Abstract: An ultrasonic anemometer (7) as well as a method for determination of at least one component of a wind velocity vector and/or a velocity of sound includes at least one sound transducer at least temporarily working as a transmitter (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 15, 16) with a sound emission surface for emitting sound waves and at least one sound transducer at least temporarily working as a receiver (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 15, 16) with a sound detection surface for at least partially receiving the emitted sound waves. An evaluation unit, determines at least one component of a wind velocity vector and/or the velocity of sound, based on a recorded transit time, which the sound waves require on a measuring section located between the sound emission surface of the at least one transmittor and the sound detection surface of the at least one receiver to cover the distance of this measuring section.

  • Patent number: 9758257
Abstract: Embodiments of air flow sensing systems are provided herein. In some embodiments, one or more sensors are positionable on an aircraft and dimensioned and arranged to measure vector components of airflow velocity having at least one of a transverse or streamwise direction relative to a flight direction of the aircraft. In some embodiments, the one or more sensors are positioned in front of an aircraft wing and distributed as an array of sensors along the span of the aircraft wing.

  • Patent number: 8108155
Abstract: A system for monitoring the quality of maintenance performed on a wind turbine. A restoration factor is used to determine the quality of maintenance performed of the wind turbine. A restoration factor determined after a scheduled maintenance is compared to historical and comparative references to determine the quality of the maintenance performed on the wind turbine. Based upon these comparisons, maintenance of the wind turbine may be modified to increase the capacity of the wind turbine.

  • Patent number: 6918294
Abstract: Weather vanes (1) are delicate instruments partially exposed to external conditions. They are used in particular in the aeronautical industry. The measurements provided by these weather vanes are crucial to the flying of an aircraft. A type of weather vane is proposed in which a vane can be changed. Changing the vane entails adjusting the orientation sensors (3). To perform this adjustment, use is made of a factory setting rig (16) that allows the various parts of the weather vane to be placed in a characteristic position.
