Plural Stationary Abutment Patents (Class 73/256)
  • Patent number: 5385457
Abstract: A positive displacement device is presented. The mechanism comprises a nutator capable of nutating within a nutating chamber defined by the interior surface of the body of the positive displacement device between an inlet into and an outlet out of the positive displacement device, an inverted pendulous, low friction, substantially non-sliding nutator, vertically elongated double pivoting fulcrum; a magnetic signal pickup mechanism comprising a pivoting cruciform shaped magnet element low inertia wire magnetically tracking a nutator and a means of sensing movement; a third magnetic element to dampen or amplify movement of the cruciform wire; a balance plate bearing on the basic elements of the positive displacement device by means of a resilient spring force; and static elements which provide magnetic attraction to the moving elements effecting a sealing influence between the static and moving elements.

  • Patent number: 5195368
Abstract: A magnetic signal pickup mechanism is presented. The mechanism comprises a moving magnetic element mass fixedly coupled to a moving element mass such as a nutator. A movable magnetic element wire is physically non rigidly coupled magnetically to the moving magnetic element mass and further coupled mechanically to quasi restrictive longitudinal pivot points wherein the pivot points restrain longitudinal movement in relation to the moving magnetic element mass, the pivot points being offset sufficiently distant from each other to prevent contact between the wire and any structure other than the pivot points, wherein the wire is non straight.

  • Patent number: 5114323
Abstract: The present invention is a nutating positive displacement device including a nutator with an inverted pendulous, low friction, substantially non sliding vertically elongated double pivoting nutator fulcrum. The fulcrum is one member comprising a bottom base coupled to a central beam coupled to a top nutator support bearing surface. The bottom of the fulcrum comprises a pivoting base pivotally and substantially non slidably mating with a base receptacle defined by a body interior surface. The base is coupled to the fulcrum beam which in turn supports the fulcrum nutator support bearing surface. The nutator support bearing surface pivotally and substantially non slidably mates with a nutator restraint defined by the center bottom surface of the nutator.

  • Patent number: 5024085
Abstract: A magnetic signal pickup mechanism is presented. The mechanism comprises an orbiting mass fixedly coupled to a cyclically repetitively moving element which by moving through its cycle causes the mass to orbit. A relatively tight but slightly moveable wire is coupled to selected points at each end so as to pass near at least one part of the orbit of the mass. One of the mass and the wire is ferro magnetic and the other of the mass and the wire is a permanent magnet sufficiently powerful so that the wire moves one cycle in an orbit in response to each orbit of the mass. A signal detector is coupled to the wire to count orbits of the wire.

  • Patent number: 4911622
Abstract: An off center one spot nutator fulcrum rocking bearing assembly is presented. The assembly comprises a non rotating circular cylindrical fulcrum rod coupled at each end to a selected fixed point inside a nutating pump chamber. An off center non rotating rocking nutator fulcrum bearing has an interior circular cylindrical surface rotatably mating with and coupled around the exterior circular cylindrical surface of the rod, the bearing having at least two exterior surfaces parallel to the bearing axis including a first generally planar bearing surface parallel to the bearing axis and disposed closer to the bearing interior surface than any other bearing exterior surface parallel to said axis wherein said first bearing surface slideably nutatably couples to a nutator barrier, whereby the barrier rides on the first bearing surface during nutation causing the bearing to rock.

  • Patent number: 4699576
Abstract: A positive displacement device capable of performing the typical positive displacement device functions such as pump, generator, flow meter, etc. is presented. The device comprises a housing having interior surfaces defining an inlet and an outlet separated by two generally circular cylindrical fluid flow chambers. A fulcrum is near the center of the device. A positive displacement barrier separates the inlet from the outlet. The barrier which is the only moving part comprises two circular cylindrical pistons coupled by a generally planar plenum barrier. The plenum barrier slides back and forth and teeter totters on a fulcrum so that each piston is always sealing the inlet from the outlet along the inside of its associated cylinder while each piston orbits its cylinder in a different direction. Fluid is caused to move around the piston by the piston and its sealing point.
