Abstract: A water meter has a glass window (30) having an aperture (32) through which extends one or more screw threaded terminals (20) enabling electrical connection to be made to an internal electronic encoder. A resilient grommet (34) is positioned in the aperture (32) and is held in compression between inner and outer sealing plates (36, 38). These are drawn together by the terminals which carry nuts.
Abstract: An adapter is provided between a gas meter and an encoder remote transmitter to provide a driving connection from the gas meter output shaft and the encoder drive shaft. The encoder remote transmitter is used to transmit gas meter readings to a remotely located receiver. The adapter permits a commercially available transmitter to be used with a wide range of commercially available gas meters.
Abstract: An electrical isolation system for monitoring liquid flow rate from pumping equipment housed within a confined enclosure, wherein the flow rate signals are developed into optical signals which are conveyed via fiber optic cables from within the enclosure to control modules outside the enclosure. The control for operating the system may thereby be wholly electrically isolated from the pumping equipment.

Abstract: An improved meter vault cover having a window-like access for externally viewing and reading the internal register of liquid or gas passing through the meter is provided. The improved meter vault cover not only provides the window-like opening but also provides a carriage-like support on the inside of the cover to hold a digital readout device to serve as the register. The digital figures of the readout device are projected and exhibited at the window-like access for making the register externally visible. The improved meter vault cover consists of a meter vault cover plate, a worm-type cover locking screw, a register support carriage with suitable screws for affixing the carriage to the cover, and a register device with suitable wiring to connect it to the meter.
Abstract: A multi-bladed turbine meter is in a fluid flow line and has two magnetic pick-ups at the periphery of its blade tips positioned to be pulsed at different times by each blade as each blade passes the pick-ups. A circuit is connected to both pick-ups to determine which pick-up is pulsed first and to register the volume of fluid which is passed through the meter in each direction.
Abstract: A digital read-out or indicator attachment for a utility meter which features a tensioned, flexible stranded cable connected at one end to a crank driven in rotation by the index of the meter and having an opposite remotely extending end connected to operate a digital counter located in a position remote from the meter. The cable is supported between the crank and the counter by a low friction sheath having a coefficient of thermal expansion approximately equal to that of the cable.
