Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement comprising a wheel speed sensor (1) and a control device (ECU), wherein the wheel speed sensor is connected to the control device by way of a data interface (k1, k2, k3, k4), wherein the wheel speed sensor includes means for sending rotational speed information in signal channels (t2 . . . t10) and each piece of information is associated with a signal channel and/or a fixed number of signal channels. Further, the wheel speed sensor comprises switch-over means (10, 11) enabling modification of the allocation of the additional information to the available channels by mode switch-over.
Abstract: A system is provided for approximating rotational speed of a oscillating rotational member such as a vehicular transmission input or output shaft (2). The system includes a rotational speed sensor (4) and a processor (6) operable to provide at an output signal (S.sub.approx.) equal to at least one of signals (S.sub.3, S'.sub.3, S.sub.5, S'.sub.5 and S.sub.7 S'.sub.7) according to the number of speed measurements made by sensor (4) within a predetermined time period (T).
Abstract: Apparatus for deflecting a pointer in proportion to the rotational speed of a shaft comprises a support, a governor mounted on the support, an indicator mounted on the support and an angled calibrating lever pivotally mounted on the support and connecting the governor to the indicator. The governor includes an input member adapted to be operably connected to the shaft for rotation therewith and an output member movable in a given direction (typically parallel to the axis of shaft rotation) to a degree generally related to the rotational speed of the shaft. The indicator includes a drum, a pointer operably connected to the drum for movement therewith, and a flexible member at least partially wound about the drum so that the drum is rotated by the unwinding of the flexible member therefrom. The angled calibrating lever has one leg bearing against the output member for motion therewith and the other leg secured to a portion of the flexible member for unwinding the flexible member from the drum.
