Abstract: A reduction gear axle apparatus includes a differential gearing assembly positioned for driving a pair of coaxially arranged driving axle shafts. The apparatus includes a rotary input shaft disposed for coupling with a prime mover having a power modulating device. A centrifugal speed control governor is fixed to the input shaft, and the governor is operatively connected to the power modulating device for control thereof as a function of axle shaft speed. In one preferred form, the governor comprises a pair of plates with a plurality of slide weights circumferentially spaced about the plates. One of the plates is fixed to the input shaft while the other is slideable thereon. At least one plate contains cam surfaces wherein as the weights are centrifugally urged outwardly of the input shaft axis, the slideable plate is axially moved away from the fixed plate.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a rotational speed sensing switch which provides a variable linear displacement of an output member in response to a varying speed rotational input. The switch includes a sensing means, which includes a rotatable rolling element-and-ramp assembly, acting in cooperation with a signaling means which includes an axially movable actuating disc, an output member comprising a switch rod, and a biasing means. The aforementioned improvement over the prior art comprises a regulating means included within the sensing means.
Abstract: A speedometer of a centrifugal force type member employing weight members which are rotatable with a shaft for transmission to a thrust member. Displacement of the thrust member takes place and carries a pointer to move with respect to a scale.
Abstract: A centrifugal governor whose body accommodates an input element adapted for rotation and a coaxially-arranged output element adapted for axial motion during rotation of the input element under the effect of the weights arranged between them. There also are levers arranged between the input and output elements so that the turning axle of each lever is secured on the input element, one arm of the lever is in constant contact with the output element and the other one contacts the corresponding weight in the course of rotation of the input element, this layout increasing considerably the axial force on the output element.
