  • Patent number: 11935339
Abstract: Provided are a vehicle inspection system and a vehicle inspection method that can align a vehicle with a constant location of a bench testing machine. The present invention comprises: a bench testing machine that rotatably supports wheels of a vehicle, using rollers that are provided for each of the wheels; and a monitor device that is positioned in a fixed location with regard to the bench testing machine and displays, toward a camera, an image resembling an exterior environment, wherein the bench testing machine has a location adjustment device (turning mechanism, test bench control device) that adjusts the location of the vehicle in the vehicle width direction such that the relative location of the camera in the vehicle width direction with regard to the monitor device is constant.

  • Patent number: 10302511
Abstract: A method for determining a cogging torque may include applying a substantially constant rotation torque to an output shaft of a motor without electrically energizing the motor; detecting, an angle of rotation of the output shaft of the motor at each of a plurality of angles of rotation; calculating an angular acceleration of the motor at each of the plurality of angles of rotation by second order differentiating the angle of rotation; calculating a measured torque value at each of the plurality of angles of rotation by multiplying the angular acceleration by a moment of inertia of a rotor in the motor; obtaining a measured torque waveform of the measured torque value at each of the plurality of angles of rotation as a function of the plurality of angles of rotation; and calculating a cogging torque waveform based on a frequency of the measured torque waveform.

  • Patent number: 8744794
Abstract: One embodiment of the method includes setting up a testing architecture where the testing architecture includes a test IPM machine having an output shaft coupled to an output shaft of a secondary speed control machine. The method further includes controlling the secondary speed control machine to drive the output shaft of the test IPM machine at a first desired speed, determining a pair of desired direct and quadrature axis currents for each of a plurality of peak current magnitudes, and recording characterization data associated with each pair of desired direct and quadrature axis currents. The controlling, determining and recording steps for each of a second through nth desired speeds may be repeated. Control lookup tables for operation of an IPM machine may be generated from the characterization data.

  • Patent number: 7023219
Abstract: An assembly is provided for testing a circuit of a rotor of an AC generator. The assembly includes a base, a rack, a coil housing, one or more coils, and a rotor stand. The rack is coupled to the base and the coil housing is coupled to the rack. The one or more coils are disposed within the coil housing and are adapted to receive electrical power and configured, in response to receiving the power, to generate a magnetic field. The rotor stand is coupled to the base and configured to mount the rotor therein to position the rotor proximate the coil housing.

  • Patent number: 6834558
Abstract: A method of using a magnetic fluid clutch for torque measurement comprises steps of modulating electric current through a coil of the magnetic fluid clutch to maintain a steady-state quasi-solid phase of a magnetic fluid medium contained within the magnetic fluid clutch when the magnetic fluid clutch is clutched to transmit torque from a torque input end of the clutch to a torque output end of the clutch, thereby ensuring that the torque output end rotates in response to the rotation of the torque input end without relative rotational slippage therebetween; and measuring a deflection value associated with the magnetic fluid clutch. The clutch is thereby used as a combined torque measurement and clutch apparatus.
