With Pumping Unit Patents (Class 73/862.543)
  • Patent number: 11021946
Abstract: A load measurement sub for measuring a load transferred between the sub and an inner surface of a tubing string includes a housing. The housing includes a central axis, an internal cavity, and a radially outermost surface. In addition, the load measurement sub includes a first load measurement assembly at least partially disposed within a first port extending from the radially outermost surface to the internal cavity. The first load measurement assembly includes a first button extending radially from the first port and the radially outermost surface of the housing. The first load measurement assembly also includes a first load cell. Further, the load measurement sub includes a first biasing member disposed between the first button and the first load cell. The first biasing member is configured to bias the first button away from the first load cell.

  • Patent number: 8793080
Abstract: A load measuring system comprising a collar mounted between the two cables of the bridle on a sucker rod pump and a measuring device to determine the clamping force of the collar. When the cables are clamped together a pre-determined distance at an angle from the vertical, the load on the cables can be determined from the clamping force. The clamping force is measured by a strain gauge or other type of load cell. The load is measured and recorded at frequent intervals during the pump stroke, and by further analysis, critical operational parameters of the pump can be determined, and the information can be used to control the operation of the pump.

Abstract: A test device includes a stationary web roll support assembly comprising a base and a pair of core supports spaced apart and affixed to the base with the core supports projecting upwardly from the base, the core supports structured and arranged to engage opposite ends of a core of a web roll so as to support the web roll. The test device also includes a movable weight load simulating assembly comprising a flexible belt having opposite ends, and a belt holder structured and arranged to secure the opposite ends of the belt to the belt holder with the belt forming a generally U-shaped loop about an outer surface of the web roll intermediate the opposite ends of the core. Movement of the belt holder away from the stationary web roll support assembly causes the belt to exert a load on the web roll, simulating weight load on the core and core supports.

  • Patent number: 6557424
Abstract: A system for measuring the weight of a seat occupant is used to control airbag deployment. The system includes a seat bottom that receives a vertical seat occupant weight force. The seat is divided into four quadrants, a front right quadrant, a left front quadrant, a left rear quadrant, and a right rear quadrant. Each quadrant includes a sensor that generates a weight signal corresponding in magnitude to the seat occupant weight in the respective quadrant. Each weight signal is comprised of a vertical force component and an error component induced by braking or deceleration forces acting on the seat bottom in a non-vertical direction. The sensors are orientated within their respective quadrants such that two sensors generate a positive error reading and two sensors generate a negative error reading. When the weight signals from each quadrant are added together to determine the total seat occupant weight, the error is eliminated as the positive and negative error components cancel each other out.
