  • Patent number: 11536762
Abstract: A system for detecting anomalies in electrical wiring in a truck trailer. The system measures and compares current drawn from the truck tractor with the current drawn by a circuit at a particular trailer component or other location in the trailer wiring. If the two current measurements differ in excess of a predetermined threshold, the system can report a wiring anomaly. The location of the anomaly can then be determined by performing the operation for different trailer components thus testing multiple different branches of the trailer power distribution circuit, and using the results of these tests to determine that an anomaly is present, and possibly the location of the issue. The system may then send a notification to a remote computing device, to the truck tractor, or any combination thereof.

Abstract: An approach is provided for automatic road closure detection. The approach, for example, involves designating a dynamic time window comprising one or more time epochs ending before a current time epoch. The approach also involves retrieving a first set of probe data collected from a road link during the dynamic time window. The approach further involves adjusting a size of the dynamic time window by adding or removing another time epoch ending before the current time epoch until at least one criterion related to the probe data, the dynamic time window, or a combination thereof is met. The approach further involves extracting a plurality of features from the first set of probe data, from a second set of probe data collected from the road link during the current time epoch, or a combination thereof. The approach then involves detecting a closure status of the road link based on the plurality of features.

  • Patent number: 10487817
Abstract: Methods for creating undulating structures are disclosed in which an elastic sheet and a rigid restraining member having different curvatures are joined. The structures incorporate stopping members, such as stopped grooves, to manage the transverse deformations of the elastic sheet. The joint is such that the transverse deformations may migrate along the undulating structure in a coordinated, wave, either to gather kinetic energy, or to propel the structure relative to a fluid. To facilitate such a wave, the elastic sheet can be joined to the retaining member via passive stopping members that oscillate about their points of attachment to the retaining member. These are also constructed to limit the elastic sheet from reverting to its original configuration. The retaining member can be annular structures, and the elastic sheet members can be tubular. Stopping members can be actuated to power the transverse deformations of the elastic sheet to oscillate.
