  • Patent number: 10623721
Abstract: A target is outputted to an ideal position in 3D space. A viewer indicates the apparent position of the target, and the indication is sensed. An offset between the ideal and apparent positions is determined, and an adjustment determined from the offset such that the apparent position of the ideal position with the adjustment matches the ideal position without the adjustment. The adjustment is made to the first entity and/or a second entity, such that the entities appear to the viewer in the ideal position. The indication may be monocular with a separate indication for each eye, or binocular with a single viewer indication for both eyes. The indication also may serve as communication, such as a PIN input, so that calibration is transparent to the viewer. The method may be continuous, intermittent, or otherwise ongoing over time.

A snap-fit locking feature and a tab each mounted on both sides of a display meter housing locks with a receptacle tab located on a communication module housing in order to rotate the display with 90° indexing (360° display rotation). A printed circuit board can be firmly snapped into the display meter housing with the snap-fit locking feature on both sides and a display unit can be mounted in parallel to the display meter housing in order to restrict movement of the printed circuit board. A snap feature located on the inner side of the communication module housing secures a communication board and a number of tabs on the communication module housing facilitate 360° rotation with respect to the display meter housing.

Abstract: A data management computer for a sample measuring apparatus is disclosed. The computer comprises a data storage, a display section; an input device; and a controller. The data storage stores results of measurements for a sample obtained by the sample measuring apparatus, the measurements including an initial measurement for a sample and a secondary measurement which is performed on the sample following the initial measurement. The controller is programmed to cause the display section to display a first result screen which shows a result of the initial measurement for a sample, receive a predefined operation by use of the input device while displaying the first result screen, and cause the display section to display, in a response to the predefined operation, a second result screen which shows a result of the secondary measurement for the sample.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for vibrometry, gauging, condition monitoring and feedback control of robots, using one or more ultrasonic probes (100) that are non-contact and form a focused beam. The ultrasonic probe is driven by a pulser-receiver (120) controlled by a computer. The probe has a substantially spherical transducer surface (75) that forms the focused beam within a gas or a liquid. The curvature of the transducer surface determines the focal length (25) and the extent of the focal region (50) of the beam. For greatest lateral accuracy, measurements are made within the focal length, where beam is narrowest. Diameter (80) of the probe determines the size of the beam, which can be chosen to satisfy a particular application. The focused beam has acoustic depth of field (85), which is the furthest distance from the probe to a surface (90) that can return a measurable echo to a pulse emitted by the probe.

  • Patent number: 8265908
Abstract: Protection, measurement and control IEDs in a substation compute if switches they control may be operated safely, according to interlocking rules or physical principles as well as the dynamic topology of the substation. The IEDs have access to the substation electrical topology, to real-time information generated by other IEDs, and to the rules for interlocking. A standardized Substation Configuration Description (SCD) of the substation for which a Substation Automation system is intended, and a standardized description of the implemented device functions or capabilities of an individual IED are utilized. The substation topology is available from SCD file, real time information about the position of switches and line voltage/current can be obtained via an appropriate protocol, and the interlocking rules are available in script form. These features apply both to simulated and real devices, and increase system testing possibilities by supporting an efficient configuration of a simulation.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for presenting users with dynamic views of process data related to the operations of an industrial system. Data obtained by a SCADA system may be stored in a real-time status database (which reflects the current process data of the industrial system) and a historian database (which archives the process data from the industrial system as it changes over time). A design canvas allows users to compose a dynamic view of the process data obtained by the SCADA system. For example, a user may compose a dynamic view of selected temperatures, pressures, and flow rates obtained by the SCADA system while monitoring the status of a pipeline.
