Abstract: An adjustable steering box has a worm gear with a worn region and a less-worn region, and the worm gear is engaged with pins on a rotating plate which is coupled to a steering mechanism. The rotating plate has an engagement position which is secured by an annular contact surface of an adjustable pressure assembly. The center of the annular contact surface has a pressure pin which protrudes and makes pressure contact with the rotating plate, thereby pressing the pins into engagement with the worm gear in worn regions with a pressure which compensates for play caused by worn regions of the worm gear or pins.
Abstract: An anti-backup device for a power conveyor system is provided and includes a mounting plate, a mounting shaft, a spline cut cog, a multi-position cam, and a bias spring. Both the spline cut cog and the multi-position cam have multiple teeth that engage each other to permit rotation of the multi-position cam in a forward direction and prevent rotation of the multi-position cam in a backward direction.
Abstract: While there have been described herein the principles of the invention, it is to be a mechanical tri-wheel retention assembly for a stair-climbing wheeled vehicle having a tri-wheel assembly. The ass has a tri-lobular roller cam mechanism to retain the tri-wheel at a desired angular position for normal two-wheeled operation, and further includes a spring-loaded roller that is configured to pop out of a locking mode in the event of an overload condition, permitting rotation of the tri-wheel assembly to a next predetermined angular position at which point the tri-wheel assembly will be retained, thus preventing damage to the unit and the locking mechanism. The mechanical tri-wheel retention assembly may further include a solenoid actuator configured to automatically disengage the mechanical tri-wheel retention assembly.
Abstract: The present invention provides an assembly for controlling the rotational movement of a die wheel in packaging machinery and includes a first component operationally interconnected to both the die wheel and camshaft, and a second component physically connected to both the first component and the framework of the packaging machine wherein the second component is detachably mounted to the framework.
