Gear Drive Patents (Class 74/10.8)
  • Patent number: 10583538
Abstract: A positive feed tool includes a motor, a power supply coupled to the motor to power the motor, a gear head and a spindle. The gear head is coupled to the motor and operated responsive to powering of the motor. The gear head includes a drive assembly and a feed assembly. The spindle is coupled to the gear head to enable the spindle to be selectively driven rotationally and fed axially based on operation of the drive assembly and the feed assembly, respectively. The feed assembly includes a feed rate oscillator having a spindle feed gear coupled to a differential feed gear. The spindle feed gear is coupled to rotate the spindle to selectively axially feed the spindle. The differential feed gear is selectively coupled to an input shaft turned by the motor. The spindle feed gear or the differential feed gear has a variable pitch diameter.

  • Patent number: 8498560
Abstract: A fixing device and an image forming apparatus using this, in which even if permanent warping is produced on a roller member that forms a fixing nip portion, no collision sound is produced due to the collision of gears, the fixing device including: two roller members that form a nip portion in which a recording medium is pressed by pressure means and transported; and a drive gear that engages with a shaft portion of one of the two roller members and transmits driving force to that roller member. A key is formed in the drive gear and a key groove having a gap opened therein is formed in the shaft portion, and when a rotation velocity of the roller member increases, transmission of driving force from the drive gear to the shaft portion is suspended and the drive gear slides on the shaft portion.

  • Patent number: 7584682
Abstract: An adjustment device with a dual-guiding structure has two worm wheels respectively meshed with two coaxial worm gears. The two worm gears are pivotally and longitudinally fixed by a driving shaft in line. An adjacent end of each worm gear has a locking recess to receive a locking head mounted on the driving shaft. Thereby, the locking head is selectively engaged with the locking recess of one of the worm gears to drive the corresponding worm gear when the locking head on the driving shaft is reciprocated. Then, one worm wheel engaged with the corresponding worm gear is rotated to rewind or release the wires on the work wheel.

  • Patent number: 7044023
Abstract: A knob adjustment device particularly for adjusting the temperature in valve units for water-heating apparatus. The device comprises a geared transmission interposed between the knob and an operating member of the valve unit in order to transmit a rotary movement to the member about its own axis as a result of a rotation of the knob. The geared transmission includes a reduction mechanism with a variable transmission ratio such that, for a first angular portion and a second angular portion of the rotation of the knob, the member is rotated with respective different transmission ratios (T1,T2).
