  • Patent number: 4192197
Abstract: A disengageable transmission device is provided in which a driving pinion is used to selectively drive a driven wheel via a wheel train mounted on pivotal lever. The fulcrum of the pivotal lever is positioned so as to minimize the rotational torque effects on the wheel train lever of the contact between the driving pinion and the wheel train and of the contact between the driven wheel and the wheel train. An energy escapement control device is also provided and the torque effects of this device on the wheel train lever are also limited by the positioning of the fulcrum of the lever.

  • Patent number: 4133216
Abstract: Drive and driven shafts are rotatably supported in a wall portion of a press frame and have free end portions extending into a gear case. A first drive gear is nonrotatably secured to the drive shaft and a second driven gear is nonrotatably secured to the driven shaft. A T-shaped member is pivotally connected to the wall and has an intermediate shaft member nonrotatably positioned in a slot for longitudinal movement therein. The intermediate shaft has a free end portion extending into the gear case with intermediate gears rotatably mounted thereon. The T-shaped member is arranged to be suitably adjusted to maintain different sized intermediate gears in meshing relation with different sized drive and driven gears so that the drive shaft imparts a preselected angular velocity to the driven shaft through the gear train. A pair of support arms each have an aperture adjacent one end and an elongated longitudinally extending slot adjacent the other end.

  • Patent number: 4062243
Abstract: Radio tuner assembly with guide means for automatically maintaining the axis of the pinion gear in radial alignment with the crown gear on the tuner shaft. The tuner shaft is rotatably coupled to one end of the guide means. The pinion gear shaft is slidably and rotatably coupled to the other end of the guide means. The pinion gear shaft is coupled to a manual tuning control shaft through a universal joint connection. This arrangement provides a range of adjustable positions for the manual tuning control shaft relative to the radio tuner front panel while automatically maintaining the axis of the pinion gear in radial alignment with the crown gear.

  • Patent number: 4041422
Abstract: A plurality of fine tuning elements are mounted on a disc which is rotatable by a selector shaft so that a selected tuning element is in a tuning position. Each tuning element comprises a screw with a gear mounted at the end thereof. A tuning shaft is rotatable and translatable on the selector shaft and has an actuator disc and a tuning gear fixed thereto. An idler shaft has first and second gears fixed thereto and is normally held in a tilted inoperative position by a spring. The tuning shaft is manually translatable so that the actuator disc engages with the idler shaft and tilts the same against the force of the spring in such a manner that the first and second gears engage with the tuning gear and the gear of the selected tuning element respectively to drivably connect the tuning shaft to the screw of the desired tuning element.

  • Patent number: 4034619
Abstract: A motion reversal device for mechanisms for compact cassettes, moving spool arrangements and the like, comprising a frame; two alternatively tape drive and winding hub members rotatably supported on the frame. A first gear is supported on the frame and is adapted to drive one of the hub members. A second gear is also supported on the frame and is adapted to drive the other of the hub members. A rockable train of gears has a supporting structure for rotatably supporting the gears of the train of gears. The supporting structure is pivotally supported on the frame to allow the rocking motion of the train. The rocking movement of the rockable pivotally supported structure allowing an output gear of the train to alternatively mesh with the first and the second gear.
