Abstract: An arm mechanism comprises a parallelogram link mechanism composed by an upper side link, a lower side link, a right side link and a left side link in a vertical plane, a load holding section provided at an end of an arm extended from the upper side link, and two sliding members provided at a coupling point of the right and lower side links and at an intersection of the right side link and a phantom line connecting the load holding section and the coupling point, respectively. The sliding members are moved in the horizontal and vertical direction to cause the load holding section to move in a vertical plane.
Abstract: A switch construction, particularly a rapid data entry switch for connecting one or more select contact circuits comprises a first block member which has a first finger engagement side and an opposite second side which is arranged in opposition to a second block member first side. The second block member defines one or a plurality of contact guide bores therethrough and it provides a pivotal support base for the first block member. The first block member advantageously has recesses defining finger engagement positions which when depressed by a finger engagement will cause the first block member to pivot on the second block member to displace a select contact rod member in order to cause it to actuate or establish a connection in a select contact circuit. The block member is comprised of rectangular block elements having opposed surfaces which are formed as pyramidal segments which interengage.
Abstract: A mount suspension system comprising a housing, a flexible planar diaphragm and a flexible strut is arranged to respond to a force to provide substantially frictionless angular steering for the mount about desired axes in the plane of the diaphragm while restraining substantially all other angular mount displacements as well as restraining substantially all linear displacement.
Abstract: A pick-up head for the manipulation of workpieces comprised of tacky material includes a rocker foot capable of four degrees of motion. The pick-up head is mounted on a horizontally movable carriage and includes controllable apparatus for causing the rocker foot to rotate, reciprocate vertically with respect to a table on which the workpieces are positioned and to translate with respect to the remainder of the pick-up head. Horizontal movement of the pick-up head subsequent to establishment of initial contact between the curved rocker foot and a workpiece results in the area of contact between the workpiece and foot increasing and the workpiece may thus be "peeled" from the table or other supporting medium.
Abstract: An articulated handle comprises a firm arm pivotally mounted on a stationary support and a second arm pivotally mounted on the first arm to pivot perpendicular relative to pivotal movements of the first arm. A lever is also pivotally mounted on the support and a connecting rod is pivotally interconnected between the lever and the second arm. The valve stems of adjacent control valves are operatively connected to the first arm and to the lever, respectively, whereby movement of the handle in one direction will actuate one valve and movement of the handle in a second, perpendicular direction will reciprocate the other valve.
Abstract: A support arm for a wire bonding tool is fixedly mounted at one end on a first horizontal X-Y stage and is attached at the other end to a swing block by a pair of flexible reeds. The wire bonding tool is mounted on the swing block by another pair of flexible reeds. Both pairs of flexible reeds are arranged to permit vertical motion of the wire bonding tool along a Z-axis toward and away from a workpiece supported beneath the wire bonding tool on a second horizontal X-Y stage. A bell crank is coupled between the support arm and the swing block and is operated by a push rod to control the vertical Z-axis motion of the wire bonding tool. The push rod is coupled at one end to the bell crank and at the other end to a lower coupling member rotatably mounted on the first X-Y stage as part of an Oldham coupling mechanism. An upper coupling member of this Oldham coupling mechanism is rotatably mounted on a support bracket adjacent to the first X-Y stage.
Abstract: A bearing having a spherical bearing surface is attached to an opening formed at the center of the top wall of a casing. The bearing rotatably receives a spherical body having a control shaft which extends through the center of the spherical body and is securely fixed thereto. A plurality of rotary discs is spaced from, and juxtaposed on, the bottom wall of the casing. Each of the juxtaposed pairs of the rotary discs is rotatably coupled to one end of an elongated slidable member having an elongated guide slot in such a manner that the elongated member is moved transversely to the longitudinal axis thereof. Circular resistive elements are arranged on the bottom wall of the casing in opposed relation to the rotary discs. Each of the rotary discs has on its lower surface a contactor in slidable electrical contact with the corresponding resistive element.

Abstract: Four direct current motor systems are controlled by a single hand grip cool device. Two of the motor systems have interacting control parameters while the remaining two are controlled independently of the other motor systems. The hand operated control mechanism is moved about three mutually perpendicular control axes to control three of the motor systems and carries thereon a fourth control which is positioned so as to be actuatable by the thumb of the operator using the control. The system of the invention has particular applicability in the control of submarine vehicles.

Abstract: An operating device for a double drum winch that has a hydraulically operated clutch, a brake and a hydraulic pressure variable control valve, and a single control lever connected to the hydraulic pressure variable control vavle to enable the operation of a hook and boom by one control lever so as to simplify the function and uses of the winch.
Abstract: A manipulator is described for moving a platform in translation in a plane. An actuator is mounted for rotation about an axis aligned parallel with the plane. A manual control lever is pivotly supported by the actuator which engages the platform through a similarly pivotly mounted coupling device. The coupling device engages the platform through a universal sliding movement in a slot to enable pivot motions from the control lever to produce translational position changes of the platform. Low frictional engagements of the moving elements together with a selectable motion reduction enable minutely accurate manual positioning of the platform.
Abstract: A device for the fine adjustment of an instrument table supporting an optical instrument which is operated by a control lever which is pivotally mounted to swivel in any direction to effect adjustment of the table in the horizontal plane and which is rotatable to effect vertical adjustment of the table.
Abstract: A first pair of variable resistors are mounted on two opposite walls of a substantially rectangular outer casing in such manner that their rotary shafts coaxially extend through the walls and are attached to two opposite walls of a substantially rectangular inner casing. A second pair of variable resistors are mounted on two opposite walls of the inner casing in such manner that the rotary shafts are coaxial and that the axis of the shafts of the second pair of resistors is perpendicular to the axis of the shafts of the first pair of resistors. A connecting member links the shafts of the second pair of variable resistors.
