  • Patent number: 8967019
Abstract: A control knob has a body and a lock mechanism. The lock mechanism acts as a safety mechanism or safeguard by biasing the knob in a locked position, thereby preventing the knob from engaging a control stem or other structure on, for example, an appliance. This prevents the knob from inadvertent rotation which may power-on an appliance, or cause a change in a current setting of an appliance which, in certain instances, may have dangerous repercussions.

  • Patent number: 8573086
Abstract: A rotating knob is rotatably attached to an outer peripheral portion of an operation lever. The rotating knob has a lead thread portion on the inner surface thereof, and the lead thread portion meshes with external teeth of a ring gear. Internal teeth of the ring gear mesh with speed-increasing gears, and permanent magnets are fixed to the speed-increasing gears. A circuit board is arranged in the operation lever so as to extend along the axial direction thereof, and magnetic sensors mounted on the circuit board are opposed to the permanent magnets at positions close thereto. Accordingly, the operation position of the rotating knob can be detected by the magnetic sensors. Abstract: The invention concerns a vehicle seat slide comprising a lower channel section integral with the floor of the vehicle, an upper channel section integral with the sitting portion of the seat, intermediate balls and a locking mechanism comprising a toothed bolt mounted on the upper channel section adapted to coact with a series of catches in the lower channel section. There is provided on one of the channel sections a series of vertical teeth and on the other a series of closed apertures disposed vertically opposite the teeth so that the beginning of a vertical dislocation of the slide results in the teeth catching in the apertures.

  • Patent number: 4168051
Abstract: An automobile seat position-adjusting assembly having slidably related outer and inner rails rigidly attachable respectively to a seat and automobile floor and a pawl member for selectively locking and unlocking the rails. The inner rail has a plurality of latch recesses, and the pawl member is pivoted on an edge of the outer rail and includes a tooth extending through the outer rail to selectively engage with one of the plurality of latch recesses so as to lock and unlock the slidable rails as the pawl member's handle is manually rotated. The pawl member has a curved lip hinge portion which encloses a protruding edge of the outer rail and is held in place by a spring and the interaction of the pawl and the rails.

  • Patent number: 4155270
Abstract: Control lever apparatus for speed change devices for bicycles comprising a pivotal lever for controlling speed change and a shaft rotatably supporting the lever. The shaft is fixed and the lever rotatable and a sound producing mechanism is mounted between the shaft and the lever for producing an audible sound as the lever undergoes rotation. The sound producing mechanism comprises a toothed wheel secured to the shaft and a shoe mounted in a recess in the lever for undergoing relative angular movement with respect to the wheel as the lever is rotated. The shoe is supported in the recess for undergoing limited radial and angular displacement relative to the wheel. The shoe has a plurality of teeth arranged along an annular sector for engagement with the teeth of the wheel. Elastic blades are formed on the shoe and bear against the lever at the recess to yieldably urge the teeth of the shoe and the wheel in engagement.

  • Patent number: 4082008
Abstract: A positioning mechanism for moving a window of an automotive vehicle or adjusting the seat thereof has a pinion rotatable on a support by means of an adjustment knob and having two axially spaced arrays of gear teeth. The teeth of one of these arrays is angularly offset relative to the teeth of the other array. A lever connected to the load being moved is pivotal on the support and formed with two axially spaced racks each of which meshes with a respective one of the arrays of the pinion. The lever may be formed with a pair of axially joined plates each formed with a respective one of the racks and the pinion may have a radially outwardly extending flange projecting between these plates to insure that each rack remains in mesh with the respective array of teeth on the pinion. In addition a brake may be provided for resisting rotation of the pinion by the lever and for allowing rotation of the pinion by the shaft carrying this pinion.
