Abstract: Steering wheels, steering wheel and steering column assemblies, and methods for assembling steering wheels and steering columns for motor vehicles are provided herein. In one example, a steering wheel comprises a hub that is disposed in a central section of the steering wheel. The hub comprises a tubular stem portion that has a channel and that comprises a wall disposed around the channel. The tubular stem portion is configured to operably couple to a steering shaft. A catch and a biasing feature are disposed along the wall and are cooperatively configured such that the biasing feature acts on the catch to allow the catch to move relative to the wall during assembly of the steering wheel to the steering shaft and urges the catch into an engaged position with the steering shaft when the steering shaft is proximate a seated position in the tubular stem portion.

Abstract: A steering wheel adapter comprises a base having an opening, a plate with a plug formed, and a ring capable of sliding and rotating along the outer face of the base. In the steering wheel adapter, a guide hole penetrating the side face of the base from the outer face into the opening is disposed, a locking member capable of protruding into the opening is provided in the guide hole, and a cam face is provided facing the guide hole on the inner face of the ring. When the ring is slid and rotated in a state where the plate is mounted on the base to insert the plug into the opening, the cam face pushes and protrudes the locking member into the opening, and the locking member is pressed to contact the outer surface of the plug. Consequently, both easy attachment/detachment and prevention of rattle can be achieved.
Abstract: Desired is a function of tilting up a steering wheel to allow a driver to get on or off easily. An object of the invention is to strengthen the coupling between a steering wheel and a steering boss and reduce the degree of backlash by using a ball and a ball receiving dent to couple the steering wheel to the steering boss and increasing the pressure applied to the ball, and to provide smooth coupling between the steering wheel and the steering boss by holding the ball from inside as a coupling member tending to protrude from a tapered hole and smoothly guiding the ball into a recess for coupling.
Abstract: A steering assembly for an electric scooter has a base, a steering bar, a positioning device and a lever. The steering bar is pivotally attached to the base. The positioning device is pivotally connected between the steering bar and the base to keep the front steering bar from pivoting relative to the base. The lever is connected to the positioning device with a cable to release the positioning device from the locked position. Consequently, the positioning device can be released from the locked position by means of pivoting the lever. The handle can be adjusted to a desired position for different users. The use of the steering assembly is more versatile. In addition, the steering assembly can be positioned at any desired position when the user pulls the lever. To adjust the steering assembly is more convenient.
Abstract: A knob for a medical post valve, the post valve having a threaded bonnet with a diameter, and a valve stem, the valve stem having an external end shaped, generally, as a cylinder with two opposing flat sides, the knob comprising a hub having an elongated body with a diameter that is generally the same size as the bonnet diameter, the body having a first end, a second end, and an axial cavity, the first end having a medial slot extending in across the first end in a direction perpendicular to the cavity, an elongated handle, the handle sized to fit within the cavity, the handle movable between a first position and a second position, the handle first position being disposed within such cavity with the axis of the handle generally aligned with the axis of the body, and the handle second position being disposed within the slot with the axis of the handle extending perpendicular to the axis of the body.
Abstract: To order to positively lock or arrest an adjusted position at a mechanical device, for instance the elevation position at a firing device, with negligible play, wherein there is fixed the position set by a hand wheel serving for adjustment of the elevation position of the firing device, there is provided a locking or arresting apparatus comprising a clamping device arranged at a stationary part or housing of the firing device. The clamping device comprises two jaw members. By means of the clamping device, following setting of the desired position, such as the elevation position of the firing device, a ring member fixedly connected with the rotatably mounted hand wheel can be clamped between both clamping jaw members by the clamping device. In this way, the ring member can be positively arrested or fixed in position. The locking or arresting apparatus has many fields of application for all types of mechanical devices of different construction.
Abstract: A steering wheel assembly including a detachable rim part and a central hub which are connected through linking mechanisms. Both the rim part and the hub are hollow and have integral spokes which have respective oblique ends and elongate slots thereon. The elongate slots on the spokes of the rim part further extend to form a receiving hole. The linking mechanism includes a sliding block, a fixing plate and a spring. The spring is interconnected between the central hub and one end of the sliding block. The fixing plate is hinged to another end of the sliding block and has a protuberance on it. The sliding block is slidable within hollow portions of the spokes with the protuberance of the fixing plate engageable to the receiving hole on the spokes of the rim part so that the rim part is releasably securable to the central hub which forms part of a steering shaft or is fixedly engaged thereto.
Abstract: This device comprises a sleeve (31) perforated with at least one slot (20) receiving the bolt (22) of a locking mechanism integral with the vehicle body. This sleeve (31) has, at one of its ends, longitudinal slots (4) which are engaged over axial projections (6) carried by a bush (28) interposed between the sleeve (31) and the steering-wheel shaft (2), this bush being splined on the inside and thus being made integral with the shaft (2). A rotation of the steering wheel must therefore overcome a periodically variable resistant torque.
