The inflator has a syringe body, a handle on the syringe body, a plunger which extends out from the handle and extends into the syringe body, and a plunger locking mechanism which is associated with the handle. The plunger locking mechanism includes an actuation lever which is configured to be depressed, thereby causing the plunger locking mechanism to actuate. The plunger locking mechanism includes a ratchet pawl which is configured to selectively engage corresponding ratchet structure, thereby locking the plunger in place, during which time the plunger is prevented from being retracted, but can still be advanced (i.e., pushed into the syringe body during pressurization). The plunger locking mechanism is configured such that when the actuation lever is released, the ratchet pawl disengages from the corresponding ratchet structure, thus freeing the plunger.

The retraction device comprises a retaining ring having retraction members and the retractable engagement member comprises reciprocal retraction members to “catch” the retraction member to maintain a disengaged configuration. In use, forward rotation of the driver engages the retractable engagement member with the toothed engagement ring of the hub to drive the hub. Reverse rotation of the driver rotates the reciprocal retraction members underneath or behind the retraction member thereby disengaging the driver from the hub.

The locking pawl has a covering of resin that covers its surface, a bearing hole that is rotatably supported by the pivot of the base plate, and a meshing surface that meshes with the sector gear. The mating surface and the peripheral surface of the bearing hole are exposed metal surfaces which are not covered with the resin. By a meshing between the sector gear and the locking pawl, the pedal lever is locked at the position to which it has been pressed.

Abstract: A reversal preventive mechanism of a silent type is provided for use in a fishing reel which is capable of playing out a fishing line smoothly when the fishing line is played out by means of the reversed rotation of the handle. A spring is wound on a portion of a rachet wheel circumscribing a drive shaft so that the spring is rotated by the rachet wheel through friction. A control member for separating a securing claw from the rachet wheel is rotatably mounted on the portion of the rachet wheel and connected to said spring in such a manner that an engagement portion of the control member is held by and interposed between extension portions of the spring. A pair of pins are provided to regulate the rotation of the control member. The engagement portion of the control member serves to prevent the undesired contraction of the spring when it abuts against either of the pins.

Abstract: This programmer control device comprises a programme-cam unit and a reversing cam unit disposed coaxially and driven for step by step rotation by rocking pawls, notably a pawl cooperating with concentric sets of teeth. The beak of this pawl comprises a stud engaging a slot formed in the first portion of a movable deceleration element having its second portion connected to the first portion by a spring and provided with an extension adapted to be locked in its forward or operative position by the movable core of an electromagnet. The slot formed in the first portion is so inclined that upon each backward movement of the pawl the fall of the beak of this pawl behind each tooth is damped out by the stud in sliding contact with the side of the slot, so as to carry along the deceleration element which may be of the frictional contact type.

Abstract: An improvement in an anti-reverse assembly of the type having a pivotable, planar pawl with a tooth engaging a ratchet associated with a rotatable crankshaft to prevent reverse rotation of the crankshaft. A pocket is provided by spaced walls integrally carried by a portion of the reel housing, within which pocket the pawl is pivotally located. A manually operable control member is extended through an opening in, and snap-fit with, the reel housing. The control member has a leg which overlaps the plane of the pawl to prohibit the escape of the pawl from the pocket. The leg has an operative surface which is selectively positionable by rotation of the control member either into or out of direct engagement with an edge on the pawl. When the control member is in engagement with an edge of the pawl, the pawl is locked in the disengaged position.
Abstract: A ratchet device is provided and includes a ratchet mechanism mounted in a housing assembly and a work arm protruding therefrom. The ratchet mechanism includes a ratchet wheel which is secured to the work arm and which is rotatably mounted on an axle and a pawl arm which is mounted at one end in the housing assembly and which is biased to engage canted ratchet teeth on the circumferential surface of the ratchet wheel. A pawl release member selectively moves the pawl arm between one position permitting engagement of its free end with the ratchet teeth and a second position disengaging the free end from the ratchet teeth. A detent is provided to maintain the pawl release member in a selected one of these positions. Preferably, the detent includes a rotatable shaft having a cam which defines the detent and a notch which receives a portion of the pawl arm to define a pawl release. The shaft is preferable oriented parallel to the axis of the axle to define a plane of symmetry.

A pawl actuator is rotated by the crank assembly rotating in one direction to activate an anti-reverse pawl which engages a ratchet to arrest further rotation of the crank assembly. Rotation of the crank assembly in the other direction rotates the pawl actuator to move the anti-reverse pawl out of interferring relation with the ratchet to permit free rotation of the crank assembly in said other direction.
Abstract: A silencer of an anti-reverse fishing reel comprises a rubbing block adhered onto a catch which prevents the reverse rotation of a ratchet of the fishing reel and a buffer recess with a wide opening formed on the catch. Whenever normally rotating the ratchet of a fishing reel, the driving gear of the fishing reel will frictionally carry the rubbing block and the catch to a position outside the rotating radius of the ratchet teeth so as to eliminate the clicking sound generally produced between the ratchet and catch. The buffer recess has a wide opening on the catch providing a buffer space for releasing the catch from the ratchet teeth.

A leaf spring provided at the rear side of the braking member is adapted to be pressed by a manipulation arm mounted on the housing and extending in the axial direction of the spool.

The adjustment member includes a button slidable on the housing between three defined positions.

Abstract: Anti-reverse mechanism for fishing reels is provided which includes a notched wheel having a pair of dogs resiliently urged into engagement therewith, one dog having an anti-torque spring to produce silent operation and the other dog as it is urged into engagement with the wheel producing an audible sound.The silent dog is engaged by a cam which urges it out of wheel engagement and which through an arm urges the audible dog out of engagement for reverse wheel movement.
