  • Patent number: 7331548
Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing control linkages that may be employed to produce synchronous motion in two adjacent controlled devices controlled by a common input. In one example implementation, a semi-rigid modified constant velocity (CV) joint control linkage may be provided that is laterally self-stabilizing. The modified constant velocity CV joint control linkage may include an input push rod assembly that is self-aligning, deflectable and of an adjustable length. The CV joint may be configured with a central cage that is allowed to skew to allow for alignment of the controlled devices.

  • Patent number: 5267479
Abstract: A force actuator arrangement comprises a force generating member performing an oscillating movement, preferably a rod (7) of magnetostrictive material, force transmitting means-in a disc brake arrangement a caliper (4,5)-, and a device (8,9) for transforming the oscillating movement to a unidirectional application movement of the force transmitting means. The oscillation frequency of the force generating member is higher than the natural frequency of the force transmitting means for enabling the movement transforming device to transmit the movement only during each oscillation stroke in the application direction.

  • Patent number: 4858488
Abstract: A linkage in an electro-mechanical shaker. The linkage has link arms which have two end members coupled to a center member. The three members provide three pivoting points in an axial direction and prevent lateral movement between the relatively movable structures to which they are attached.

  • Patent number: 4815678
Abstract: A high energy absorbing aircraft tail skid assembly for protecting an aircraft fuselage lower skin portion from damage in the event of a tail strike due to over rotation on take-off of the aircraft. The high energy absorbing tail skid assembly is pivotally mounted to the aircraft bulkhead, and comprises a telescoping rod assembly including a crushable aluminum cartridge, positioned coaxially with respect to the central axis of the telescoping rods. The telescoping rod is coupled through linkage, including a fuse pin providing a predetermined failure mode for the high energy aircraft tail skid assembly, to prevent overloading critical aircraft structure.

  • Patent number: 4048004
Abstract: Apparatus for moving a tool such as an ultrasonic transducer into and out of engagement with a workpiece comprises actuating means including a piston and a toggle linkage between the piston and the tool. One end of the linkage is coupled to the tool, and the other end engages resilient means which yields after the tool first engages the workpiece and then moves resiliently toward its original position to maintain the tool in contact with the workpiece as yielding occurs.

  • Patent number: 4011127
Abstract: A tire building drum for assembling and shaping green tire carcasses toroidal includes a central drum and side drums with membranes capable of being blown up to shape the tire carcass. Supporting rings are located on opposite sides of the central drum. The invention is characterized in that the core supporting ring consists of an elastomeric material with a high E-modulus and is provided on the inner side with a disk-shaped flange supported in a groove, the flange having concentric collapsible grooves and being capable of extending radially under air pressure.
