Abstract: A system for preventing unauthorized operation of an automobile and enabling an authorized operator to operate the auto comprising a transmitter system located with said operator enabling the operator to broadcast a start signal received by a receiver system mounted on the auto, The auto engine is coupled to a starter motor and starts in reaction to receipt of the start signal.
Abstract: In a starter with which a pinion movable body with which a pinion gear and a one-way clutch were united moves on an output shaft, a holder is attached to the one-way clutch. A seal component having the shape of a ring is provided so that an end of an outer circumference of the seal component is fixed to a nose part of a housing and an end of an inner circumference of the seal component slidably contacts an outer circumferential surface of the holder. The holder is provided so that relative rotation to the one-way clutch is possible. Since the holder doesn't rotate relative to the housing, wear of a seal component is reduced compared with the case where the seal component contacts the one-way clutch which rapidly rotates whereby the sealability preventing a foreign substance or water from infiltrating into the inside of the starter can be maintained.
Abstract: A power transmission mechanism between an engine starter and an engine capable of securely engaging the ratchet wheel of a rotatingly driven part with the lever-like engagement/disengagement member of a centrifugal clutch mechanism when the engine is started. The side face of the lever-like engagement/disengagement member facing the ratchet teeth of a second ratchet part is formed in such a shape that is recessed in a direction apart from the peripheral surface of the second ratchet part in an area starting at its pivoting part toward an engagement/disengagement claw part. The engagement/disengagement claw part formed at the tip of the lever-like engagement/disengagement member is engaged with the ratchet teeth of the second ratchet part by surface contact, and the ratchet teeth of a first ratchet part and the ratchet teeth of the second ratchet part are disposed at a prescribed phase difference.
Abstract: An engine start device having a first start mode in which the engine is started on a spot by executing a start operation of the engine, and a second start mode in which a necessary accumulated force is previously accumulated in to start in one time in an optional place at an optional timing. In the first start mode, an accumulated force, accumulated by a rotation of a rotation drive section allows the engine to be started on the spot. If switched to the second start mode, the rotation of the rotation drive section is exclusively accumulated and released in the optional place at a desired time so as to start the engine in accordance with a one-touch operation.
Abstract: Disclosed is a starter motor including a drive assembly disposed at least partially within the housing. The drive assembly includes a gear train disposed in the housing, with the gear train in operable communication with a first end of an armature shaft. A pinion gear is in operable communication with a second end of the output shaft. A spacer is disposed between the gear train and the housing. The spacer is disposed and configured to hold the gear train fixed relative to the housing but allow the gear train to rotate relative to the housing when a selected slippage torque is applied to the gear train.
Abstract: A control moment gyro comprising a wheel support structure which is mounted on a base by a motor, which is used to rotate the support around a first axis and bearing a wheel arrangement for driving the wheel spinner at a high speed around a second axis perpendicuIar to the first. The support structure includes a tubular part which rotates on the base and a flange which is disposed on only one side of the wheel and which is fixed both to the wheel and the tubular part. The diameter of the wheel and the point at which the wheel is fixed to the flange are proportioned such that the wheel penetrates the tubular part.

Abstract: In a starter, a cylindrical tube is slidablly engaged with an outer peripheral surface of an output shaft through a bearing in an axial direction. A front end of the tube, which supports a pinion, is closed to define an enclosed space between the front end of the tube and an end of the output shaft. A ventilation groove is formed on an inner cylindrical surface of the tube to communicate the enclosed space with a space defined rearward of the bearing. The ventilation groove has a helical shape twisted about an axis of the tube. When the bearing is press-fitted in the tube, a direction of press-fitting the tube and a direction along the ventilation groove do not coincide, but cross each other.
Abstract: A recoil starter enabling a power-driven device to be coupled to a crankshaft of an engine in a state where the recoil starter is mounted to the crankshaft on the same side of the engine as the crankshaft is disposed on. A starter housing is provided on an inside thereof with a reel support shaft which projects coaxially with the crankshaft. A rope reel having a recoil rope wound thereon and a cam, which transmits rotation via centrifugal ratchets to the crankshaft, are rotatably mounted on the reel support shaft while they are rotatingly coupled to each other via a damper spring. An opening is formed in the reel support shaft so as to extend from a distal end thereof near the crankshaft to the outside of the starter housing. A drive shaft of the device is coupled to the crankshaft inside the opening.
Abstract: An engine starter includes an electric driving motor having a drive shaft; a transmission pinion coupled to the drive shaft; a starter pinion meshing with the transmission pinion; and a swiveling device mounted on the drive shaft for pivotal motion thereabout. The starter pinion is rotatably supported in the swiveling device. A friction clutch torque-transmittingly couples the drive shaft to the swiveling device for causing the swiveling device to pivot about the shaft for placing the starter pinion in a working position when the shaft is rotated in a driving direction. The engine starter further has an overrunning device for transmitting a driving torque between the drive shaft and the transmission pinion solely when the drive shaft rotates at least at the same speed as the transmission pinion.
Abstract: An improved power spinner for rotating a kelly joint having a pipe sub rotatably mounted in a housing with a ring gear on the sub and a motor mounted on the housing for powering the ring gear. A drive gear is connected coaxially to the motor and a shifting arm is pivotally mounted coaxially with the axis of the drive gear. A movable gear is positioned in the plane of the ring gear and mounted on the shifting arm for engagement and disengagement with the ring gear and the movable gear is connected to and driven by the drive gear and rotatable about the drive gear. A control is connected to the shifting arm for laterally moving the movable gear toward and away from the ring gear and for locking the gears together when engaged. The control may include a cam engaging the arm for rotating the arm about the axis of the drive gear with a bell crank connected to the arm and an actuator connected to the bell crank.
Abstract: A gasoline engine is equipped with an auxiliary driven wheel selectively engageable with a driving wheel on the shaft of an electric motor mounted for movement relative to the gasoline engine and operable from a remote point. A compact housing enables use of the invention on existing equipment, such as a lawnmower, or installation as original equipment at the time of manufacture.
Abstract: A turning device preferably for turbine-machines is disclosed having a turning-gear pinion arranged on a cam so that the axes of rotation of the cam, the turning-gear pinion and the shaft to be turned are aligned in a central line. To turn the shaft, the turning-gear pinion is caused to engage a toothed ring of the shaft by a hydraulic piston acting on the cam. The turning-gear piston is then held in the engaged position by a spring-loaded pressure cylinder which engages a catch of the cam. When a certain speed has been reached, or when the shaft is turning backward, the spring loaded pressure cylinder becomes disengaged from the catch and the turning-gear pinion swings out sideways.
