Abstract: In a parking release actuator, a related motion between a motor and a cable uses a number of worm gears and worm wheel gears using rotation motions in different directions, and the cable is pulled or released by a cable guide converting a rotation motion into an angular motion. Therefore, a number of worm gears and worm wheel gears and the cable guide are made compact and intensive. As a result, it is possible to reduce the entire size of a housing and significantly reduce the operation of the operator required for manual locking or manual release, thereby further improving convenience.

Abstract: A mechanical linkage, for use on original equipment or for replacement of existing hydraulic ram based actuators, comprises a rotary to linear transmission. The transmission provides two co-rotatable capstans of different diameters, and two idler wheels spaced on a longitudinally slidable linkage. The capstans are linked to a first of the idler wheels by means of a pulley line wound from the first capstan, around the wheel, and then back to the second capstan. The first capstan is also linked by means of a pulley line to the second idler wheel, and the second capstan likewise to the second idler wheel by a third pulley line. The difference in diameters causes a differential winding of the various lengths of pulley line between the idler wheels and the capstans, which urges the linkage to slide relative to the capstans. Cooperation of the two capstan/idler wheel combinations compensates for possible backlash.

Abstract: An electronically servo-assisted bicycle gearshift and method for electronically shifting the gears of a bicycle involves the steps of: receiving a signal requesting a displacement of a chain of a bicycle gearshift from a first sprocket to a second adjacent sprocket of a gearshift group comprising at least two sprockets; if the first sprocket has a smaller diameter than the second sprocket, obtaining an upwards gear-shifting position for the second sprocket, if the first sprocket has a larger diameter than the second sprocket, obtaining a downwards gear-shifting position for the second sprocket; and driving an actuator of the gearshift group to displace a guide element of the chain in an axial direction with respect to the gearshift group from the first sprocket to the upwards gear-shifting position for the second sprocket or to the downwards gear-shifting position for the second sprocket, respectively.

  • Patent number: 7243562
Abstract: A rotary to linear converter in a remotely controlled toy environment for translating the bidirectional rotation of a servo motor into the linear displacement of a tab connection point. A single spool member which is driven to rotate incrementally from one angular position to another, and a flexible, nonstretchable linkage, which is integral to the spool at one end and integral to a tab at the opposite end. During the period of rotation of the servo motor-driven spool, the integral linkage is either fed off the spool or wound onto the spool thereby traversing the linkage and the integral tab through guides in the housing and lid, which act as alignment restraints tensioning the linkage and tab to eliminate slack.

  • Patent number: 7181988
Abstract: A rotary driving source is connected to one end of a frame. The rotary driving force of the rotary driving source is transmitted to a slider by the aid of a driving pulley, a belt member, and a driven pulley. The slider is displaced in the axial direction of the frame while being guided by a guide mechanism. Each of the frame and the slider is formed of, for example, an aluminum alloy. First guide rails are installed in the frame and second guide rails are installed in side surfaces of the slider. The first guide rails and the second guide rails are formed of a metal material subjected to a hardening treatment.

  • Patent number: 7159614
Abstract: An improved assembly for use in an in-line starter valve. A flexible material system in the form of a flexible belt is used to translate motion from a manually operable wrench shaft to a piston rod in order to render an in-line starter valve to a closed, partially opened, or an extreme opened position. When the wrench shaft is manually rotated, tension is imparted on the flexible band which, in turn, translates tension to a piston rod which then travels longitudinally resulting in the opening or closing of the in-line starter valve. An index mark on a handle of the wrench shaft indicates the closed, partially opened, or extreme opened position of the in-line starter valve. The use of the flexible belt affords greater durability, less weight, and less costly production than the prior art assemblies.

  • Patent number: 7080869
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotation transmission device and a motor vehicle seat adjustment system comprising one such device. The inventive transmission device comprises a flexible shaft and a casing which houses the shaft therein. The aforementioned casing comprises a core consisting of a hollow cylinder having an inner diameter which is dimensioned such as to enable the rotation of the shaft inside said core. The core of the device comprises at least one bearing-forming zone which is obtained by means of plastic deformation, said zone comprising at least three parts, namely: two outer parts and one central part. The axes of the above-mentioned parts are essentially parallel to that of the core while the diameter of said parts is essentially equal to that of the core. Moreover, the outer parts are substantially coaxial and comprise an axis which is offset in relation to the axes of the central part and the core.

  • Patent number: 6733005
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromechanical structure of an extendable electrical device comprising a body part (300) and a sleeve-like grip part (301). The smooth longitudinal movement between a retracted and extended position is effected by a clockspring in a spring barrel (302). A belt is wrapped around the barrel, and a slide part (306) is attached to the free end of the belt. When the device is retracted, the slide part with the belt slides along a longitudinal groove (304) made on at least one side of the body part until the slide part is interlocked. In response to pushing a releasing element, the interlocking is released, whereupon the belt is wrapped around the barrel and the body part slides smoothly to extended position.
