  • Patent number: 8931358
Abstract: A ball screw with a dust-proof and lubricating device comprises: a screw, a nut, a plurality of balls, an oil-absorbing member, a return unit, and two dust-proof members. The nut includes an axial oil-guiding hole, a plurality of radial oil holes in communication with the oil-guiding hole and the helical groove of the nut, and an oil-feeding hole in communication with one of the radial oil holes. The oil-absorbing member is disposed in the oil-guiding hole and the radial oil holes. The return unit is disposed in the nut to enable the turning and circulation of the balls. The two dust-proof members are located at both ends of the axial hole. The ball screw can still be lubricated when it is disposed in a vertical position, and the dust-proof and lubricating device which won't add axial length to the nut.

  • Patent number: 8555737
Abstract: A cylinder device is capable of heightening the feed accuracy of a screw shaft and stably controlling the feed speed of a conveying unit in a wide speed range. A ball screw shaft is inserted through a hollow shaft motor having an end fixed to a housing, and a decelerator that is a planetary reduction gear unit connected to the hollow shaft motor. Each of a pair of ball screw nuts, which are disposed to face each other and between which the hollow shaft motor and the decelerator are placed, meshes with the ball screw shaft. An internal gear is connected to a spacer disposed at an end of an output gear of the decelerator. An external gear connected to the ball screw nut meshes with the internal gear. The output gear of the decelerator meshes with a connection shaft by splines.

  • Patent number: 7473057
Abstract: Cutting apparatus having a ram axis gear tube (32) equipped with internal threads engageable with external threads (48) of a main shaft (42). A tool can be fixed to the main shaft (42). The external threads (48) of the main shaft (42) are formed on external splines (44). A main shaft rotation gear (46) has internal splines (41) mating with the external splines (44) of the main shaft (42). Rotation of the ram axis gear tube (32) thus causes the main shaft (42) to move axially via the internal and external threads. Rotation of the main shaft rotation gear (46) causes rotation of the main shaft (42). The tool fixed to the main shaft (42) can thus undergo axial and rotational movements. A motor (74) can be coupled to the main shaft (42) and a motor shaft (63) extended through the ram axis gear tube (32) and the main shaft (42). The motor shaft (63) can drive a linear gear (68) of a cross slide assembly (24) and thus radially move a tool fixed to the cross slide assembly (24).

  • Patent number: 6349606
Abstract: Apparatus embodying the invention includes first and second motors coupled to a carriage assembly for moving the carriage assembly back and forth between first and second end points. The first motor is for developing a force to drive the carriage in one direction and the second motor is for developing a force to drive the carriage in an opposite, second direction. When the first motor causes the movement of the carriage in one direction, the slowing, stopping and reversal of the carriage is achieved by varying the power supplied to the second motor relative to the power supplied to the first motor until the force exerted by the second motor first equals and then exceeds the force exerted by the second motor. So operated, the carriage motion is well controlled and exhibits little, if any, backlash.
