  • Patent number: 7533593
Abstract: A ball screw unit with dust cleaning and ball deflecting element fixing mechanism includes an annular inlaid slot along the inner surface of a nut proper proximate to the outside of a ball deflecting element. A fixed dust scrape formed of a C shaped annular packing is installed in the annular inlaid slot. The C shaped annular packing is covered with a soft covering layer at its inner fringe and the outer fringe of the soft covering layer is just stuffed in the annular inlaid slot of the nut proper. Inner fringe of the soft covering layer is formed into a spiral scraper blade corresponding to the rolling spiral slot of the screw blot. The fixed dust scraper is tightly fixing the ball deflecting element to the nut proper by means of the resiliency of the soft covering layer to clean the dust along the rolling spiral slot with its spiral scraper blade thereby serving as a dust cleaner.

  • Publication number: 20080196523
Abstract: A dustproof device for a ball screw disposed on an end surface of a nut comprises: an absorber, an oil scraping piece and a wiping member. The absorber is made of liquid-absorbing material. The oil scraping piece has an oil scraping portion contacting the surface of the screw. The wiping member is formed with a threaded portion for meshing with the surface of the screw. And a plurality of protrusions is formed between the wiping member and the oil scraping piece for defining at least one radial through hole between the wiping member and the oil scraping piece. Therefore, the dustproof device can block and remove powder and liquid, and prevent lubricant leakage out of the nut and can absorb a tiny amount of cutting fluid passing through the oil scraping piece.

Abstract: An actuator that at least inhibits the deleterious effects of corrosive fluids, such as salt-laden air, does not rely on relatively expensive materials. At least a portion of the actuator housing is sealed from the surrounding salt-laden air, and is in fluid communication with an air reservoir that includes a supply of relatively salt-free, or substantially salt-free, air. The actuator is configured to exchange air between the air reservoir and the actuator housing, thereby at least substantially inhibiting the ingress of salt-laden air into much of the actuator.

  • Publication number: 20080092678
Abstract: A dust-proof structure for a ball screw comprises: a wiper, a wiping piece and a fastening device. The wiper is a C-shaped structure defined with a gap for accommodation of a wiping piece and is annually mounted on a surface of a screw shaft. The wiper is formed at either side of the gap with a bevel surface, and the wiping piece is also formed at both sides thereof with a bevel surface for mating with the bevel surface of the gap, so that the wiper and the wiping piece are maintained into contact via the bevel surfaces. The fastening device enables the C-shaped wiper to be deformed in radial direction, making the wiping piece abut against the surface of the screw shaft. By such arrangements, an interacting force between the bevel surfaces of the wiping piece and the wiper pushes the wiping piece toward the surface of the screw shaft, thus effectively preventing dust.
