Abstract: A track system (18) of the type used to adjust the position a supported element such as vehicular seat (12) includes a pair of base rails (20) that slidably interact with a respective pair of driven rails (22). A transverse rail (24) is attached to each of the driven rails (22) so that the driven rails (22) slide together as a unit. A motor (34) is supported on the transverse rail (24) and includes a pair of drive shafts (36) emanating from either end. The drive shafts (36) carry on their distal ends' respective worm gears (38) which are contained within a transmission assembly (26). The worm gears (38) mesh with external teeth on respective drive nuts (54) which interact with a lead screw (28) that can be oriented to either remain stationary relative to the base rails (20) or can be rotatably fixed within the driven rails (22). The drive nut (54) is prevented from causing objectionable noise and premature wear in operation by the inclusion of one or two compressible washers (66).

Abstract: Provided are a steering device and a feed screw mechanism. The steering device is made so easy in the adjusting work of a backlash that it can eliminate the backlash reliably, even if the precision of the thread of a feed thread shaft or a feed nut is poor, thereby to improve the rigidity and to reduce the manufacturing cost of the feed screw mechanism. An upper-side end portion feed nut is urged upward of FIG. 8 by an upper-side disc spring so that an upper-side flank face of the thread ridge of the upper-side end portion fee nut is brought into close contact with the lower-side flank face of the thread ridge of a feed screw shaft. On the other hand, a lower-side end portion feed nut is urged downward of FIG. 8 by a lower-side disc spring so that a lower-side flank face of the thread ridge of the lower-side end portion fee nut is brought into close contact with the upper-side flank face of the thread ridge of the feed screw shaft.

Abstract: A fixed torque preload piece is positioned between two nuts of a ball screw, the preload piece is formed with through hole located in an axial direction of the two nuts for receiving at least two steel balls. Two terminal openings of each of the through holes are defined in the surfaces of the preload piece facing the two opposite nuts. Three radial threaded holes are formed in the outer periphery of the preload piece, and the threaded holes are vertical to and in communication with the through holes. An adjusting member, an elastic member and an adjusting screw are received sequentially in the respective threaded holes. The steel balls in the through holes are pushed against the two nuts by the arc-shaped abutting surface of the adjusting member, the pushing of the steel balls can produce an adjustable preload, and can absorb the sudden increase of the pressure effectively, thus obtaining the objective of the present invention of outputting torque stably.

Abstract: A linear actuator assembly, such as a rod or piston-type linear actuator, comprising a rotating lead screw with external threads; and a nut assembly with threads engageable with the external threads of the lead screw; and a guide tube having a hollow interior portion with at least one internal surface. The lead screw and nut assembly are located within the hollow interior portion of the lead screw, and the guide tube is configured to prevent the nut assembly from rotating with the lead screw. The nut assembly translates in a linear direction within the guide tube as the lead screw rotates. A portion of the nut assembly, such as a wedge, is radially biased against an internal surface of the guide tube. In one aspect, an axial compression spring is pre-loaded against the wedge and pushes the wedge up a ramp surface on the nut, and into the internal surface of the guide tube. The radially-biased wedge helps minimize torsional backlash in the assembly.
