When stepping on the compressing bladder by foot the air inside is compressed and is squeezed to the air bladder in the water faucet via the passageway. The air bladder expands and pushes the platform as well as the stem in the ring body and the valve block respectively downward. The stem moves away from the opening of the valve block and water flows out. Water is stopped by releasing the compressing bladder which sucks back the air from the air bladder that is then contracts and allows the stem to move back to the original position. It can also be controlled by hand as an ordinary water faucet.

The channel holds a pair of blocks having inclined surfaces held in touching relation and relatively slideable. The side walls of the channel restrict the first of the blocks from lateral but not vertical movement. The other block is restricted from lateral movement only by the threaded element, and turning the threaded element moves that block from side to side in the channel to raise or lower the first block as the inclined surfaces slide. This changes the effective length of the rod. The turning of the threaded element may be done from the outside of the door through an access hole.

    Abstract: Rotary drive, particularly for vehicle doors, in which the piston motion of a piston-power cylinder-unit 5 is converted into a rotary motion by means of roller pairs 14 which engage into oblique slots 10, 11. The slots exhibit an axial direction at their ends. The power output shaft 7 is provided with a cup-type seal 17 seated firmly upon it, whose surface contour 18 overlaps outwardly the collar 15 and which with its edge 19 rests tightly at the cover 2. The cover is provided with an axially oriented groove 20 on its side facing away from the collar, into which groove the edge of the pot-shaped housing 1 is tightly fitted.

    Abstract: A tire building machine is disclosed that includes an adapter for use between a tire building drum and a drive mechanism that would otherwise be incompatible. In one form of the invention a tire building drum has collapsible outer drum segments that are movable between extended and retracted positions, and a rotatable shaft is connected to extend and retract the segments in response to rotation of the shaft. A drive mechanism rotates the drum and also includes an actuation mechanism that moves reciprocally between first and second displaced positions. The adapter rotates the rotatable shaft in response to reciprocal movement of the actuation mechanism and, thereby, extends and retracts the segments. In this construction, a drive mechanism that provides a reciprocating actuation movement can be combined through the adapter to drive a drum which requires a rotating actuation movement.

The coupling member has a combined guide and anti-rotation portion extending from one side of the diaphragm that slidably engages a stationary guide so as to guide linear movement while preventing rotational movement of the coupling member and further has a helix extending from the other side of the diaphragm that slidably engages in a slot in a section that meshes with a gear connected to the output member whereby linear movement of the diaphragm forces linear non-rotational movement of the coupling memmer and thereby rotary movement of the output member.

An activator rod extends forwardly from a reciprocating portion of the vend assembly and includes an operating finger which is positioned to be contacted by the circular cam when the handle is rotated in response to acceptance of a coin. The contact between the circular cam and the activator rod drives the vend assembly to its rearwardmost position to again prepare the vending machine for vending a flat package.

    Abstract: A cone clutch sleeve (18) on a main shaft (15) is moved axially between forward and reverse counter-rotating gears (13 and 14) by a yoke (102) having mirror-image oppositely tapered cams (108 and 109) on opposite sides thereof which are selectively rotatable to engage eccentric rings (132 and 133) on the forward and reverse gears. This engagement drives the yoke away from the one engaged gear and toward the other gear to in turn drive the clutch sleeve out of engagement with the one gear such that torque applied through the cam-engaged gear ring assists clutch disengagement of the one gear such that requisite shift force decreases as speed and torque increases. The eccentric face surface of each ring actuates the yoke and drives the sleeve member out of engagement with the one gear and into engagement with the other gear with a pulsed impact hammer effect due to the eccentricity of the face surface as it rotates in a circumferential plane about the main shaft.

    Abstract: A fuel shut-off valve for an internal combustion engine carburetor which includes passages leading from a fuel source to a controlled fuel passage. A valve seat is interposed between these passages disposed to be closed by a plunger type valve biased toward the valve seat by a coil spring. An actuator for the valve includes a configuration to keep the valve from rotating and a cross-pin transfixing a valve stem on the plunger type valve. A cam lever has a collar surrounding the valve stem with cam surfaces to engage the cross-pin which upon rotation will lift the valve off of the valve seat. A radial detent groove at the top of the cam surface receives the cross-pin to establish the open position of the valve. Release of the pin from the detent groove causes the pin to ride down the cam surface under the bias of the spring to a closed position.
