  • Patent number: 10882099
Abstract: A tool manufacturing method includes the steps of preparing a cylindrical blank, dividing the blank into sections, changing an outer diameter of one of the sections, and shaping the sections to complete a tool. During the shaping step, the section whose outer diameter is changed is shaped into a symmetrical polygon for serving as a head portion of the tool and shaping another section to obtain a polygon with alternate concavities and convexities thereon for serving as an engaging portion of the tool. Accordingly, the progressive execution of the method prevents the deterioration of the blank made of a high carbon content metal material, allows the tool to keep good mechanical properties, increases the manufacturing efficiency, and reduces manufacturing costs.

  • Patent number: 7471892
Abstract: A hand tool has two digital video cameras mounted thereon adjacent to a working end of the tool for viewing a work site, which video cameras are connected to a pair of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) mounted on the tool proximate a control end of the tool. The hand tool includes a barrel with a handle at the control end and a control operator for activating the tool, wherein the control operator is in operative relationship with the handle and wherein the working end of the tool is positioned at the end of the barrel opposite the control end of the tool. In an illustrated example, the cameras and LCDs are mounted on a pneumatic nut runner with a T-head tool drive.

  • Patent number: 6536016
Abstract: Constant pins are determined in a combinational circuit by associating an input of a combinational circuit with a first variable and a second variable, with the second variable being the complement of the first variable. For a first logical cell interconnected to such input, a first mathematical representation and a second mathematical representation are computed. The first mathematical representation is a function of the operation of the first logical cell and a function of the first variable, and the second mathematical representation is a function of the operation of the first logical cell and a function of the second variable. A determination is then made as to whether one of the first and second mathematical representations is equal to a constant.

  • Patent number: 6520049
Abstract: A method of copying a three-dimensional surface having X, Y, and Z dimensions forms a translucent impression of the surface to be copied and then captures a two-dimensional image of the translucent impression. The captured image has X and Y dimensions and a grayscale value for each X, Y coordinate of the image. Then, the method converts each grayscale value of the image to a Z height value, thereby generating a digital file of X, Y, and Z values. The digital file may then be provided as an input to a numerically controlled machine, which can be operated to reproduce the surface to be copied. The method of the present invention finds particular application in digitizing handcrafted emboss dies and the like.

  • Patent number: 5897762
Abstract: A method for coloring tool bits includes cutting a beam having a hexagonal cross section into a number of segments. The segments are electroplated for forming an outer layer on the segments. The segments each have one or two of the ends machined to form a tool bit end for engaging with fasteners. The segments are then dyed for allowing color material to be attached onto the tool bit end and for coloring the tool bit end. The electroplated outer layer may prevent the color material from attaching onto the outer peripheral portion of the segments.

  • Patent number: 5094384
Abstract: A soldering tip is provided with a sensor to sense soldering tip temperature during a soldering cycle. The sensor is embedded in the soldering tip and positioned immediately adjacent to the tip's working surface. The sensor location provides rapid response to changing conditions at the tip's working surface. A microprocessor, responsive to the sensor, is provided to process the tip temperature data to control the power delivered to the heater which provides heat to the soldering tip. A visual and/or audio display also can be coupled to the processor. The microprocessor can be coupled to a further processor having long-term memory so that the collected data may be subsequently retrieve and displayed.

  • Patent number: 4771659
Abstract: The saw-tooth wire for use in card clothings for textile machines is treated in a two step method to round off the edges of the front surfaces of the teeth. The edges are at first rounded off by use of a wet spraying agent containing an abrasive of a particle size of between 180 to 220 of international standard and thereafter are treated in a chemical finishing or deburring bath.

  • Patent number: 4537096
Abstract: Metallic wire card clothing is provided having a sharpened leading edge on each of the longitudinally aligned teeth formed in a metallic strip by an apparatus which includes a punch. During punching, the relative direction of travel of the punch is illustrated as inclined at an acute angle in relation to the moving strip and a die cooperating therewith. The method contemplates thus inclining the strip and while the strip is so inclined, punching the teeth as the strip is continuously fed past the die. The strip may be inclined in respect to the direction of travel of the punch either transversely or longitudinally, preferably, both.
