Abstract: The present invention is directed to a serving utensil for selectively engaging a serving pan for removal from a steam table. The utensil is of the type used in buffet-style service settings. The utensil includes a serving element on one end and a handle on the other end. The serving element may comprise a bowl, tines, prongs, tongs and the like. The handle includes a flange extending from a face thereof for selectively engaging the serving pan of the steam table such that the flange is selectively insertable between the pan and the steam table such that the user may lift the serving pan from the steam table for removal of the serving pan for cleaning or replacement.
Abstract: A process for making a combination food utensil constructed of materials having different relative hardness, particularly a spoon. Portions of the utensil are constructed of a hard material such as polyproplylene to provide structural rigidity and to allow the utensil to easily slide along the bottom of a dish such as a bowl or a plane. Outside edges of the utensil and portions of its handle are constructed of a softer material such as Kraton or silicone to provide for comfortable contact with the inside of the mouth and gums. In the preferred embodiment the spoon is provided for use by a baby.
Abstract: A process for making a combination food utensil constructed of materials having different relative hardness, particularly a spoon. A skeleton or backbone of the utensil is constructed of a hard material such as polypropylene to provide structural rigidity and to allow the utensil to easily slide along the bottom of a dish such as bowl or a plate. Outside edges of the utensil and portions of its handle are constructed of a softer material such as Kraton or silicon to provide for comfortable contact with the inside of the mouth and gums.
