Abstract: The subject matter of the present disclosure includes agents for lightening keratin fibers, more particularly human hair, containing in a cosmetic carrier: (a) at least one carboxylic acid ester of the formula (I) (b) at least one peroxide compound, and (c) water, wherein the agent has a pH value in the range of from about 7.5 to about 12.5. A further subject matter of the present disclosure includes a kit-of-parts in which the aforementioned components exist packed separately in two agents (A) and (B).

Abstract: The invention relates to compositions comprising a combination of (a) at least one organic compound which carries at least one thiol group and at least one optionally derivatized carboxyl group, for example L-cysteine, and (b) at least one organic compound selected from the group which is formed from cyclic, organic carbonates, glycerol and its derivatives and C4-C12 fatty acid dimethylamides. Using these low-odor compositions it is possible to reductively decolor colored keratin-containing fibers, in particular human hair, in a rapid and effective manner.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a composition for treating keratin fibers, for example, human keratin fibers such as the hair. The present disclosure provides a composition for dyeing keratin fibers, comprising: at least one compound X and at least one compound Y, wherein at least one of the compounds X and Y is a silicone compound, wherein when X and Y are placed in contact with each other they react together via a hydrosilyation reaction, a condensation reaction, or a crosslinking reaction in the presence of at least one peroxide; and at least one alkoxysilane comprising a single silicon atom.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hair styling composition which includes a vinyl copolymer and a nonaqueous solvent. Another disclosed hair styling composition contains a vinyl copolymer, a nonaqueous solvent, a urethane copolymer, a polyester and optionally a second nonaqueous solvent. Film formers and other additives may be included in the composition. The compositions are applied to the hair. Heat may be used in connection with the application. A method of making the compositions by adding copolymers one at a time and stirring until clear mixtures are obtained after each addition is disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition and method for permanently shaping hair, in which an N,N-disubstituted mercaptoacetamide of the formula I: or a salt thereof, wherein R1 and R2 are each independently selected from the group consisting of straight-chain alkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, branched-chain alkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, monohydroxyalkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, polyhydroxyalkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and carboxyalkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, is employed as keratin reducing agent. A process for making these mercaptoacetamides is also described as well as a novel mercaptoacetamide, N-ethyl-2′-hydroxyethyl-mercaptoacetamide. The mercaptoacetamides provide gentle and uniform shaping of hair in a pH range of 4.5 to 9.5 and do not cause allergic or sensitizing reactions.

Abstract: The present application relates to a cosmetic composition intended for treating keratin fibers, comprising, in a support which is suitable for keratin fibers: (a) at least one enzyme of 2-electron oxidoreductase type in the presence of at least one donor for the said enzyme; (b) at least one aminosilicone; as well as to processes for treating keratin fibers, in particular processes for dyeing, permanently reshaping or bleaching the hair, using this composition.
