Abstract: A process for dyeing wool-containing fibre materials with anionic dyes, which comprises dyeing said materials in the presence of a wool protective agent which is a reaction product of an epihalohydrin and an amine of formulaR--NH.sub.2 (1),wherein R is as defined in the claims. Rubfast, level dyeings without impairment of wool quality are obtainable by the process.
Abstract: Process for improving the color yield and the wet fastness properties of dyeings or prints produced with anionic dyes on cellulose fibre material, in which the fibre material is treated before dyeing or during a dyeing with a quaternary ammonium salt of the formula ##STR1## in which R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl, X is the group ##STR2## Hal is a halogen atom and Q.sup..crclbar. is the anion of an aromatic sulfonic acid or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylsulfate ion.
Abstract: A mixture of a textile auxiliary (T) obtained by reacting epichlorohydrin and ammonia in defined mole ratio, and a polymeric compound (P) which is a water-soluble homopolymer of a mono- or di-allylamine, or a water-soluble copolymer consisting of mono-, di- or tri-allylamine units may be used as an aftertreatment agent for fixation of anionic and sulphur dyeings on cellulosic fibres. The treated dyeings have better fastness properties than dyeings treated with either (T) or (P) alone.
Abstract: According to the process of the invention, scouring and dyeing synthetic fibers can be carried out in one-bath. The process comprises the steps of preparing a dyeing solution comprising an alkalizing agent and a pH adjusting agent being able to generate acids by heating, putting unscoured synthetic fibers in said dyeing solution and then heating to dye said fibers at high temperature. The dyeing solution may comprise a surface active agent.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for improving the color yield and wetfastness properties of dyeings or prints produced on cellulosic materials with anionic dyes. The process comprises treating the cellulosic fabric before, during or after dyeing with a cationic fiber-reactive compound which is the reaction product of an imidazole compound containing in 2-position phenyl or an aliphatic radical of not less than 5 carbon atoms, and an epihalohydrin.
Abstract: A cationic compound of the formula [I] below is used for improving the dyeing properties of a textile material by treating therewith the textile material before or after dyeing with an anionic dye. ##STR1## wherein A is a group of the formula [II]: ##STR2## wherein p and q are an integer of 1 to 8, n is an integer of 0 to 2, X is halogen, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are (C1-4) alkyl, OH-- or cyano-substituent-having (C1-4) alkyl or (C1-4) alkenyl, and Q.sub.1, Q.sub.2 and Q.sub.3 are: ##STR3## in which Y is halogen.
Abstract: Undyed or dyed wool with an antifelting finish is produced by a method in which the wool is chlorinated at a pH of less than 4 and then an aqueous solution of a quaternary product is applied onto the wool, this product being obtained by condensation of(a) piperazine and piperazine derivatives with(b) crosslinking agents, such as epichlorohydrin and ethylene chloride, in a molar ratio of from 1:0.9 to 1:1, and quaternization of the condensate with benzyl chloride, for 0.15 to 1.0 mole of benzyl chloride being employed per equivalent of nitrogen in component (a) in the quaternization. To produce dyed wool with an antifelting finish, dyeing is carried out after the wool has been chlorinated.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for treating a polyamide textile substrate to increase the affinity thereof for anionic dyes or to reserve the same against cationic dyes comprising applying thereto, in a weakly alkaline medium, a compound of formula I, ##STR1## wherein R is phenyl; naphthyl; (C.sub.5-6)cycloalkyl; or phenyl or naphthyl substituted by a total of up to 3 substituents selected from the group consisting of (C.sub.1-4)alkyl, chlorine and bromine (maximum of two of each of these);each of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, independently, is (C.sub.1-4)alkyl, and X.sup..crclbar. is a non-chromophoric anion.
