C. for 6 to 48 hours, and storing the impregnated goods in the moist state for 6 to 48 hours at a temperature from 20.degree. to 60.degree. C.Dyeings with good fastness properties are obtained with this process.

These compounds are prepared by starting from the corresponding sulfohalides. The novel compounds are used as photoactivators, especially for bleaching and removing stains from textiles and for combating microorganisms in or on organic or inorganic substrates. The invention also relates to bleaching, detergent and soaking and microbicidal compositions which contain the novel phthalocyanine compounds.

    Abstract: Copper phthalocyanine derivatives of the formula ##STR1## or mixtures thereof wherein CuPc is optionally substituted copper phthalocyanine, n is a value from 1 to 4, X is hydrogen, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or halogen, and R is linear or branched alkyl of 1 to 22 C-atoms which may be substituted with one or more alkoxy, dialkylamino or alkylthio, the alkyls having 1 to 22 C-atoms, or arylalkyl, the alkyl having 1 to 4 C-atoms and the aryl being optionally substituted by one or more non-water solubilizing groups, which incorporated into a phthalocyanine pigment, provide excellent flocculation resistance in paint and printing ink media.
