Abstract: Colored silicone polymers and elastomers are described herein wherein the colorants used in the composition provide tint to the polymer, but are capable of retaining transparency of the substrate if desired. The colorants include curcumin and/or a derivative thereof.
Abstract: A dye composition for dyeing human keratin fibres, such as hair, comprising at least one dissymmetrical polycationic direct dye of formula (I) below: Col1-Z-Col2??(I) wherein: Col1 and Col2, which differ in structure, are chosen from tazo dyes, methine dyes, azomethine dyes, phenothiazine dyes, triarylmethane dyes, xanthene dyes, phenanthridine dyes and phthalocyanin dyes and Z is chosen from linear and branched, saturated, unsaturated and cyclic C1–C20 hydrocarbon-based groups comprising at least one nitrogen atom and bearing at least one cationic charge; and also to processes for dyeing human keratin fibres using the composition, to the use of the at least one dissymmetrical polycationic direct dye of formula (I) as direct dyes, and to multi-compartment devices.

Abstract: There is provided a process for the dyeing and printing of polyester textile fabrics with different shaded color effects on one or both sides of the fabric, comprising contacting the polyester fabric as such or having been previously dyed in light pastel shades, with an aqueous dye bath containing at least one hydrophobizing substance, drying the so-treated fabric, printing on one or both sides thereof with disperse dyes and affixing the dyes to the surface by thermosoling.
Abstract: Synthetic polymers having carboxy groups are useful thickeners for printing pastes or pad-dyeing liquors containing disperse dyestuffs for the coloring of cellulose fibers which may be regenerated or their mixtures or mixtures of such fibers with polyester fibers.
Abstract: The invention relates to an aqueous disperse dye or optical brightener formulation which comprises(a) from 5 to 55 percent by weight, based on (a+c), of one or more finely divided dyes, optical brighteners or mixtures of these,(b) from 10 to 200 percent by weight, based on (a), of a water-soluble surfactant of the formula ##STR1## where X is from 0 to a mean value of 125, Y is from a mean value of 37 to a mean value of 250, but if X is >37, Y:X is at least 1:1, Z is 0 or 1 and Me.sym. is an alkali metal ion, or mixtures of such surfactants,(c) from 45 to 95 percent by weight, based on (a+c) of water or of a mixture of water and a water-retaining agent, with or without(d) further additives conventionally present in aqueous formulations.
