Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the tanning of animal hides characterised, compared to currently adopted processes, by the non-adoption of the step known in the industry as “pickling”. The invention also concerned hides tanned by said process.
Abstract: To provide a liquid material which can only adjust transparency by applying on a part of a zirconia crown having high transparency, without coloring. The present disclosure provides an opaque imparting liquid used for a prosthesis device cut and machined from a dental zirconia for cutting and machining, comprising; (a) 10 to 39 wt. % of a water-soluble aluminum compound and/or a water-soluble lanthanum compound, (b) 60 to 89 wt. % of water, and (c) 1 to 20 wt. % of an organic solvent.
Abstract: An embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a composition suitable for leather tanning comprising zeolite treated with monocarboxylic acid and to a method for manufacturing said composition. An embodiment of the present disclosure method comprises providing zeolite into a reactor and keeping said zeolite in motion while introducing concentrated monocarboxylic acid thereto provided that the mean temperature of the resulting composition is 50° C. or below.

Abstract: The present invention is related to the use of a new conditioning agent for treating pelts for tanning. This conditioning agent consists in a composition of modified aldehydes, carboxylic acids or polycarboxylic acids and additives. The conditioning agent is used for replacing the steps of deliming and pickling in the pelts treatment. The action of the product can eliminate the step of basification when the tanning is made with chromium salts. The objective of the present invention is the use of a novel composition that can replace the steps of deliming, step 6, and pickling, step 8, described before for one just step called conditioning The proposed system, neutralizes the alkalinity and hence removes the solubility of Calcium from the liming operation attached in the pelt.

Abstract: A novel synthetic aluminium tanning agent as an alternative for chromium based tanning salts without using formaldehyde was prepared by using aromatic polymeric matrix and aluminium (III) salts as raw materials with suitable masking agents. The preparation of the syntan consists of sulphonation of aromatic molecule, which is incorporated with a polymeric network along with ligands specially designed for the complexation of aluminium (III) salts. The complex can be used as a self-tanning agent in leather industry with fairly good filling behavior. The tanned leathers exhibit shrinkage temperature about 85° C. Due to the higher precipitation point of the product, it can be used for tanning directly after deliming thus eliminating the pickling process. This product, unlike the conventional phenol based products, does not undergo photo-oxidation thereby preventing the discoloration of the tanned leathers.
